That, my friend, is the only way TC schools will EVER improve!!!!!!
There's an easy answer to that; take for example, the last election and the candidates running for the slots. Only one had a college degree and somewhat impressive credentials. I don't think he won but no matter - not one of them said anything about any problems that plague the school system, or how the incumbents had failed, or what they would do that was different, better, just general political statements that were meaningless and inoffensive. Call it what it was - pabulum!

The sad part is that the only way anyone can get elected here isn't because of what they've accomplished in life or what they want to accomplish if elected, or if they can do it, rather how popular they are. They're all afraid of offending someone by suggesting change/improvement and as a result, someone who COULD make a difference hasn't got a chance in hell of getting elected.

The candidates are all spineless, but so is the electorate!

In a community where all locals support locals whether good or bad, how could a "good, solid citizen" win? The majority of the citizens are all related and they back each other. They seem to uphold their decisions of hiring perverts and keeping on spouses of sex offenders. It is embarrassing, but the reality of the community. When a "move-in" attends a school board meeting, the board members seem really uncomfortable that they are being "questioned". The way for change is for the parents DEMAND these elected board members make decisions to benefit the students as opposed to making their spouses, cousins, in-laws, or whatever happy. Hold these people accountable and stop the sweeping everything under the rug. Step it up parents and take note on what goes on within the classrooms, it's ok to ruffle a few feathers when your child's future is involved.

<quoted text>Brilliant. Great post. I think a poster corrected you on the rank in Georgia for TC. If you rank against the public schools only then they are in the bottom 20%. If you compare them to all school then they are in the bottom 5%.
It is pitiful that nobody cares. The current School Board and past several are some the most ignorant people I have ever met. I really don't think they understand what they have done to the children of this town. The new clown in the Superintendent's office is cut from the same mould. If a charter school opened I would move my children there in a second. We love the mountains but might be forced to move to let our children have a chance at a better education.
It's all about jobs for the friends and family of the School Board. Most of the teachers attended one of the local colleges and many had to finish on line because they could not pass in the classroom even with the dumb down courses offered at those liberal arts schools. They get a degree and return to suck off the taxpayers of Towns County. Most could not teach if they tried. Then you have all the wives, husbands, sons and daughters working in administration and driving busses that nobody ride in.
I hear there is a storm brewing and a few people are going to be exposed for the frauds they are. I say bring it on. It's long over due. Hellawassee.com is just the tip of the iceberg.
"They...return to suck off the taxpayers of Towns County."? You're projecting again, Dumbo. You do dwell on that activity, don't you?"

"...all the wives, husbands, sons and daughters working in administration and driving busses that nobody ride in."?
Gosh, Dumbo, all of them? Great. No unemployment here in TC. But nobody ride in the "busses"? Wow.

Brilliant. Great post. Now tell me how to stop laughing.

I agree that he should not be employed, but isn't that double standards? Keeping one and making another leave that are both supposedly guilty of similar actions. Why is it so important for these people to uphold such behavior?

You couldn't graduate from elementary school, where subjects like spelling, grammar, punctuation, and critical thinking are taught.

Sorry about Ron Paul's grandson being arrested. Must be a government conspiracy, eh, Dumbo? Maybe the Mason's were behind it, or the long arm of King Bill.

The quote is proper English usage. However, your reply contained several instances of improper usage. There's no sentence in the second line and the question mark goes inside the ending quotation mark if it were.

The list of wrong doing goes on and on. The Towns County School Board seems to appreciate this type.
