Local,
I have much to say to you, but this is not the right place nor time. Maybe we will have the opportunity to meet some day.
I still stand by what I said before, that nothing surprises me any longer.
I too despise "yes men".
A person that I've known for a very long time and consider a friend is one where he and I agree to disagree. He is also one that I would feel safe with covering my six. Also thanks for the U-Tube Flick.

IO,
Your such a mess, I don't know where to start, so I won't try. Just do your thing. It doesn't mean that I'll always agree though.

The blood and treasure wasted, America has been defeated and disgraced, but the profits of defense contractors is at an all-time high! It is reasonable to assume their lackies, the politicians, are being well rewarded.

"Department of Defense" is misleading, IMO, especially the use of the word "defense." It should be renamed for what it is, the "War Department!"

Hey, your stealing my line about returning to calling it the War Department because it has little to do with "Defense".

But, I hereby intentionally and expressly grant you permission to use that term, as you obviously are an intelligent person not blinded by those who wrap themselves in the flag while they pick your pocket.

Weapons maker Raytheon reported higher-than-expected earnings on Thursday although its sales cooled in the second quarter. The maker of Patriot missiles was the last of the big U.S. military contractors to report earnings this week, many of which beat analyst expectations amid Pentagon budget pressures.

The company’s net earnings for continuing operations rose 10 percent to $470 million in the second quarter, according to a statement.

Space and airborne systems offered a brighter spark, bringing in sales of $1.38 billion, up from $1.34 billion a year ago.

Raytheon Chief Financial Officer Dave Wajsgras said the company booked nearly $1 billion in new classified U.S. government orders in the first half of the year and expected "significant" international bookings later this year, Reuters reported.

Raytheon expects orders for missile defense systems, precision missiles, command control and communications systems and air-traffic control radar from countries in the Middle East, CEO Bill Swanson said on the company’s earnings call.

Lockheed Martin, which builds the F-35 and F-16 fighter jets, also exceeded Wall Street’s expectations on Tuesday. The company’s quarterly earnings from continuing operations rose 4.4 percent to $781 million, and sales rose 3.3 percent to $11.9 billion in the second quarter.

Northrop Grumman beat Street expectations with sales at $6.27 billion.

I've 'til yet understood why anyone would want to ever Glorify War.

Worth repeating' "No War is Glorified".
Only those that are misguided or has never been in War, Glorifies a War. There is no Glory in War.
Only the rich fat cats along with the crooked politicans we unfortunately vote in gain from War.
I say clean house on Capital Hill and we all prosper without War.

Good points.

Those war criminals Bush and Cheney made a fortune for their oil companies and private contractors by invading Iraq.

But hey, it was easy for them, draft dodgers like to start wars for others to fight. It's fun and profitable.

I agree to a point and have never agreed on draft dodgers but do you truly believe that what we have today in the Whitehouse and Congress is any better. None of them are in the political game for the people. They are in it for themselves for money and personal power and many are just plain puppets.

I don't give him any credit because he's a white man also.
I don't give him any type of credit for anything except greed and grief.

1st statement: Obama is 1\2 black and 1/2 white there is no credit for "because". Also he didn't kill bin ladin, Team Six did. And he didn't give the order to do so either.

The greed speaks for itself.
The grief, all you have to do is look around and see for yourself at our jobless economy and continual high prices of everything.
And on and on.......

OK, thanks, I get it.

When the military, under the command of the Commander in Chief, accomplishes what Bush couldn't, or wouldn't - Obama does not get the credit.

When the economy, because the Right Wing proudly and openly fought Obama at every turn, or because the Right Wing's policies under 8 years of Bush created too much devastation to repair in less than 4 years, fails to recover as fast as we'd like - Obama gets the blame.

This is so easy to understand. If Obama is in charge, he only gets the blame for things we don't like, he never gets the credit for things we do like.

Now I get it.

Let's just return to the good old days - Bush's $Trillion Dollar tax cuts that tool a budget surplus to a $ 600 Billion deficit; 3 unfunded and illegal wars that added $2 Trillion to the national debt, the UnPatriot Act, deregulating so Bankster could steal a $ Trillion in taxpayers' money and literally destroy the economy, and voter suppression to keep Americans from being allowed to vote.

After all, none of that was Bush's fault.

This new logic is getting easier.

Thanks.

Ah we'll, it's Thanksgiving Weekend, and the Dawgs and the Gators both won - so it's all good.

I never said that Bush was not at fault. The records speak for themselves.
But you do have to admit that nothing was done by Obama to improve it either, even though it was only a 4yr. term there shows no improvement anywhere.
Anyway it was neither one of them that made the decisions to begin with as Congress makes all decisions concerning what happens within Governmental happenings. The Office of Presidency has become a puppetry regardless of whomever sits in the Chair. The President makes decisions based on whichever person pushes him the most toward making a decision on whatever they want done. Then when things go wrong, he gets the blame.
People are like sheep and will believe anything.
Sarcasm!?! Come on now I.O. Really!
Go Dawgs!

You raise some good points.

Someday a politician will come along that represents the people, pushes policies that create equal opportunity, abhors involving America in foreign disputes and illegal wars, regulating businesses to assure they serve America, not vice versa, in other words a true actual conservative - kind of like Russ Feingold.

Dawgs, Gators, and now we have to worry about the Falcons.

"War," that is a glorified conflict between good and evil, is embedded in our brains from day one and constantly re-enforced. It can be seen everywhere, in our religion, the toys we buy our children for the games they play, movies, sports, comics, even computer games - and politics.

This true.
So what do we do to change this without becoming pessimistic defeatist whimps that allows a takeover of our Country?
Ban all of this and make more new laws to take all of what is left. Politics will still prevail.
