It is about time. From Oriskany to Utica there are no less than 11 different police departments to contend with on the way to work. They will yank you over for just about nothing! It is a nightmare being so heavily policed in this area.

I am sure it will be more cost effective too.

I guess if you follow the speed limits Linda T you would have nothing to worry about.

It would make sense to merge the 5, not 11 departments in the Whitestown area. It would not only save on money, but would give the new single department the chance to add special teams within, such as a K9 unit and investigative units. Something similar to what New Hartford police have. To comment on Linda T's post, the officers will only "yank you over" if you are doing something worth being "yanked over" for. So next time don't speed or break the law and you won't have to worry about being "yanked over." Be thankful you have so many hard working officers to keep you and your property safe.

I agree with citizen. This would make the most sense. There would be so much more protection for the citizens as well as back up for the officers. It would free up the state police and county sheriffs to patrol areas with no police protection. And as for Linda T, there is no need to be afraid unless your doing something wrong.

I was recently ridin my jetski and ran in to another boat which was docked. I broke the swimplatform, left a note and got the hell outta there! Why??? Because I didn't want to give the Town of Webb cops a reason to give me as ticket cuz they prolly could have found something.I agree with her- no point in giving THEM an opportunity to give you a ticket. How about the NYM cop who gave a ticket to a car transporter for unloading the cars in the medium(sic)on Commercial Dr. Gave him a ticket for an unregistered vehicle- that counts as being YANKED OVER for little reason in my book. Consolidate them all and have ONE chief/officer in charge or whatever them jerkoff departments call it.Put it to a referendum and see how fast it passes and by how much. Don't believe me-ask the Town of Clay cops? A coworker voted for it because he thought the Town of Clay needed to save money and it was a little payback for a ticket he got a very long time ago and I quote "F**k them Clay cops"

To Wrong, first of all this forum has nothing to do with the town of Webb or Clay so lets stay on topic here. Second of all, unless you want to become a police officer, then don't complain about what they do. Worry about yourself and your family, not other people. And third, unless you are a member of one of those "jerkoff" departments keep it quiet, remember that they can make your life hell.

I'm glad that the state of NY has programs to allow retards to ride jet ski's!

How about someone not expecting someone to be parked in the middle of a STATE HIGHWAY unloading cars in a merge lane and running into the car carrier or driver. Then you would say that the police weren't doing their job.

As for the Town of Webb police, if you had your jet ski properly equipped and registered you would not have to worry about the cops.

It's always the cops fault when you get a ticket for doing something you shouldn't have done. Why don't you look inward at yourself and take a little responsibility for your own actions before you blame the police?

Hey Linda, where do you come up with 11 police dept's between Utica and Oriskany?( Oriskany, whitesboro, Yorkville, maybe you could even stretch and say NY Mills, Whitestown,OC Sheriff's and NYSP). That's 7 unless you count the US Marshalls, FBI, DHS, ICE, ATF, and all the branches of the military.

Why don't you leave Oriskany on time to get to work, hang up your cell phone, wear your seatbelt, fix all the equipment problems on ytour car and pay attention to the road instead of fixing your mascara and you wouldn't have to worry about the police stopping you.

Oops, left out Utica PD. That still isn't 11. You would be the first to whine when you call 911 for a cop and they aren't at your house in 15 seconds.

You must be a cop. A little afraid of consolidation are you?

Town of Webb probably would have written me a ticket for not having an extinguisher when you are surrounded by water. This is the BS tickets i'm talking about.

You are still an illiterate retard! In the fourth grade if you weren't eating the crayons instead of listening to your teacher, retard, you might have written your last sentence correctly.(These ARE the BS tickets I'm talking about).

Nope, not a cop. Actually I am a very big advocate of consolidation of all services in the area. What are you afraid of? All I was saying was that the original writer is more than a little whiney, exaggerating the "gauntlett" that she had to endure on her commute. A law obiding person would be glad to see police along the way.

Seeing that oil and gasoline are not water soluble, a fire extinguisher would be needed to put out the kind of fires that you would encounter around boats/ jet-skis. If you pour water on a oil/gasoline fire, it will not put it out. Plus, I believe it is NYS law to have a fire extinguisher on any motorized watercraft.

As for the consolidation, I think it is a good idea, saving money and allowing better service and protection for the citizens.

Its funny you all attack Lisa because she said there are way too many police departments and how they will pull you over for nothing....it is true we have whitesboro, yorkville, nym, all within a mile apart...no wonder all these cops do is sit around go eat pizza "with their cars running with ac on in summer" nooone in it ethier....way too many cops for such a small area...and as for them pulling you over, if you drive on oriskany blvd, main st, rt 49 past 11:00pm your screwed, these cops will ride your ass and just come up with an excuse to pull you over....not enough crime yet theres more than enough cops....biggest joke of a cop is one who works in yorkville , named pat collea, what a pathetic excuse for a cop...this state has made me lose respect for cops...another ticket happy state trooper is officer onley, where do they get these losers from?

i meant linda* as for the utica police officers, well we can all see what a good job they are doing just riding around in their cars by taking a stroll through east utica near james st. where crime is all these people know, you can get robbed at one corner, get a prostitute at the next and maybe some crack at the end of the street....if you ask me, officer lindsay was a true cop, a good man who lost his life because he had the nuts to stand up and do what needs to be done to the trash down there, he truly is one cop i actually respected because he was a puss like most of the others
