Work begins to replace 114-year-old bridge
#1 Nov 16, 2010
1.75 million so 300 cars a day can pass over? That doesn't seem like a good investment to me. With that rate of travel is costs taxpayers .32 cents a vehicle for the next 50 years. That doesn't count any regular maintenance for the next 50 years either. Its probably closer to .50.
Make it a toll (lol) or close it. There are other ways to get from point a to point b. The bridge still has a few years left in it. So what if it is one lane.

are they keeping the overhead portion of the bridge or just making it like a normal bridge?

hmmm how much money is spent in lancaster on projects? I'll make my judgement on the bridge when it's finished. 1.75mil seems high to me. But they will have to start from scratch with the collumns and road ramps. Time will tell!!
