It's a damn shame that people cant just live there own lives and not have to judge others choices. I rde, i take a risk that i choose to take. If you have never spent any real time on a motorcycle you have no reason to make any comments. I have no regrets of choosing to ride, even if i get hurt tommorrow or killed the next day. It is worth the risk, if you don;t understand its your problem not mine. I feel for the family and friends of this young man, he died doing something he wanted to do. May he Rest in Peace!
Yep you take a risk, so dont get all in a tissy when we chastised you on here! Probrably was distracted by his illegal loud pipes!

Statistically, more poeple die in car crashes than motorcycles if you want the real facts.
As for helmets, more times than not, the cyclist killed doesnt die from head injures, they die from blunt force trauma throughout their body, so should they be required to wear body armor head to toe? The helmet will only protect them in a low inpact crash and not one where they are run over by a car, tractor trailer or even hit a treee, the amount of trauma to the rest of the body is immense.
Total BS. Provide data to back up your post. I'll wait......

Wearing a helmet is a choice, fine. But don't spout garbage as if it's gospel. That's the education part- educate riders as to the real benefits of a helmet, educate riders to the benefits of armored gear, hi-viz gear, etc. And maybe educate "bikers" how really stupid it is to drink and hop on a scoot.

Not to imply this gentlemen did or didn't do any of the above.

Simple mathmatics, more cars on roadways than MC's crashing equates to more deaths verses less motorcycles on roadways equates to less MC deaths.

A few years ago - while the helmet laws were under debate - I read an article that addressed the statistics of surviving a motorcycle crash with vs without a helmet. Strangely enough, this study indicated there was no better chance of survival with a helmet! I know it sounds crazy, and I know statistics can be manipulated, but this was in a reputable paper.
Sad that a young man lost his life. Wether it was a result of inexperienced driving, something running out in front of him, or simply his destiny to die that day in that way - prayers to his grieving family. I hope that the conversation on this page does not inflict more pain on his family.

And I bet you wear a helmet when you drive your car on the freeway....

Only because you think of your kids when you get behind the wheel.

How about educating "cagers" to the fact that motorcycles are legal modes of transportation and have every right to the roads as cars. Educate them to look for bikes and not blindly pull out in front of them or turn in front of them. Educate them not to tailgate bikes. Educate "cagers" how really stupid it is to drink and hop in a cage. More bikers are killed by cars infringing upon our right of ways than are by self inflicted accidents.

This is the excuse that bikers use to protect themselves from cagers. Not a good excuse to have loud pipes. That is my point. Cagers do not look both ways twice. They only look for cars.

Come on people give these bikers a chance. Can't you see the real reason for the pipes & the posters? They are afraid to ride so they want your help to make it safe for them. Never heard such a crying bunch as the bikers of today. They get the no helmet law in their favor now they want me to watch out for them. If the way this cager drives ain't good enough for them ...... tuff. If your gonna ride then do it without crying about every damn thing. Seems like more women ride the more crying gets done, only thing is I think it's the boys doing the crying. Ride hard cry louder.
