Another lie--all Block Grants have been stopped by the FEDS and now Pa. since Rendell misused over 80% of The Federal Stimulus Monies.. The Pa community Development Authority was disbanded the day after Corbet was sworn in... WHO writes all this SHIT ? And ,,South Central Community Action Programs is using the $15,000 to train Mexicans at HACC to become waiters and such...Save the $15k or use it for deportation fees. And, these Food Pantries are NOT eligible for Funds since they already get it directly from the Pa and U.S. dept of Agriculture.. Weikert needs to explain this FRAUD

It is a simple fact that this money did not just fall out of the sky like "manna from Heaven". Block Grant money is from our taxes paid to the Federal Govt, sent to a Federal Agency, who sends it to a State Agency, who sends it to the County, who sends it to a Community Development Group. By the time it passes thru all these hands and after each agency takes its cut, a fraction of the money is actually available for the citizens it is supposed to be helping! It appears the group benefiting is not the underpriveleged, but the administrators of these so called "grants". What happens when Congress realizes it can no longer spend money it does not have? Will the County be obligated to fund this largesse on the backs of the already overburdened taxpayers?

BTW: when I got my working papers at 16, I immediately got a job in a restaurant the MANAGER and OWNER TRAINED ME AT NO COST TO THE TAXPAYERS--there was no Uncle Sam to hold my hand--but that was when people, especially teens were encouraged to work instead of looking for a "hand out" from their parents---is this how the "nanny" state got its start?

Again these moronic uneducated commissioners that were elected to serve the people of Adams County prove that they think this is all "free" money. They have no accountability or concept of how to save. Spend, spend, spend mentality. They gotta go!

You screwed up at age 16. Instead of getting a job, you should have just asked for a grant.
