Maybe if the townships would fix the freakin' roads there wouldn't be deaths, such as this. Isn't that what we pay taxes for not pensions, healthcare and big $$$$ for your pockets. I don't know how many potholes I've hit recently and some are really big and you don't see them most of the time until you hit them!

Hogwash! Drifted off right side of road, cycle flips end over end, no helmet; where does a pothole enter into the accident? Possibly a squirrel was involved instead of a pot hole.
You are procrastinating, as most posters!!! RIP to Mr. Johnson and condolences to family!

If you want to know why so many of them die, just stop at a bar that holds bike nights. Nothing but a bunch of wanna-be thug poseurs. One look and you can tell that most of them sit behind a computer all day. Then they try to act like bad-azzes. At the other end of the spectrum you have the idiot kids that think they can road race. Most of them can barely operate a car let alone a bike that can go well over 100 with ease. bill the poseur falls in to the first category. A wimpy computer geek with a gun permit that tries to be a man on weekends. It's very sad.

obviously I cannot say anything to whether a pot hole, squirrel or anything else is to blame. The truth as I know it is that a wonderful person has passed away. This man was obviously much more kind than the many who have posted such callous remarks as "when will they learn" and "hopefully before they breed." Perhaps you forget that a real man died with real family and real friends, all of whom have real feelings on which you have just trampled to get in a horrible sarcastic comment. I hope if you ever find yourself or your family in such a situation, people find it in their hearts to show you compassion of which, today, you are undeserving.

Had the "real man" taken the time to consider the possible repercussions of his actions, he may still be alive. In this case, there was no mention of an outside agent such as another driver so this person did not have control of his vehicle so he got dead. As others stated, I too hope he did not have a chance to breed and pass on defective genes.
