I agree with Mr. Wilkin. I'd love to see a "cafeteria plan" where we CHOOSE which 100 channels (or 20 or 40 or 80) we want, and pay for them on a per-channel basis. I was sold on the digital cable by a CS rep who said "If you upgrade to digital cable with On Demand, I'll give you a discount on your high speed internet service for 6 months" so I agreed. Only to find out "On Demand" is not even AVAILABLE where i live (Spring Grove Boro).. its a scam and there has to be a better way...

Its extortion - if you want to pick up the channels, you have to PAY MORE for their converter box?!?! I was already paying for these channels - you gonna lower my bill now that I no longer recieve them?? Can't wait until ALL the channels are HD - everyone will need a box then.

I have switched to Direct and have no complaints. This was two weeks before the last raise in the Comcast bill.... Now I will say I have lost the signal during a bad storm but I have DVD's so I wasn't bothered too much. Just knowing that Comcast isn't getting my money any more makes me happier.

Oh and by the way there are no converter boxes available right now. Supposedly there will be a shipment arriving around March 3rd. So nice of Comcast to plan for the rush on boxes when they summarily removed channels that their paying customers watched. Of course Comcast acts just like the people who grant their franchises. And in case you didn't know that is the council or supervisors for your municipality. For those of us in the city we've grown used to such stupidity and arrogance. Afterall we have the circuis performers and lord ringleader who renogiated the franchise agreement removing restrictions just to get more channels to broadcast their chosen bafoonery. It would be worth it to loose half the other programs we are paying for and not receiving without a box if their public access channels were also unavailable.

Comcast deletes one of the few channels we can really without any notice, won't answer their phones, and doesn't even have the converter boxes available. That's what you call a monopoly. I'm ready to fire comcast but isn't direct tv also owned by these blood suckers?

Buy a nice size TV and hook your computer up to it. Between Youtube and other movie sites one can watch all the movies and TV they can handle for free. Cancel cable and get high speed internet and say goodbye to the cable monopoly.

Comcast could care less what any of us think - they are laughing all the way to the bank - rather than posting to this crappy website we should all be emailing the heads of Comcrap and tell them what we think.
COMCAST is a monoply and I thought the Government was supposed to be protecting us against this stuff?

Customers were not informed of the channel switch either. Our experience is no customer service. Comcast phones are not answered; one gets into an endless music loop while on hold. Comcast has demanded enormous rate hikes. The Comcast Corp. just takes the money and does not provide good customer service in our region. And the sad part of it is, they can do it. Comcast has a monopoly, there are no other TV providers, except Satellite TV alternative.

We, the high paying customers ought to fight back this ever growing corporate greed; by taking action and report these poor business practices to the FCC and the Better Business Bureau.

I agree! DirecTV gives me WAY more HD channels, better quality pictures even on the non-HD channels, is WAY cheaper, and much more pleasant to deal with on the rare occasions you have to.

But remember one thing, people, you need one of those boxes for each TV you have if you want to watch the new channels.

The cable cos. are a perfect example of what happens when there is no competition. The Cable cos. are great at extortion! When COMCAST told me I had to pay an extra $3 per month for MASN (owned By Peter Angelos)I said goodbye. Now I have Direct TV and love it. It's time for TV/Internet users to tell the cable cos. where to go. The local municipalities have some control over the cable cos. but good luck going that route! One monopoly trying to regulate another! My suggestion go with satellite. You won't be sorry!

I could care less about the HD channels - in another year they will all be digital anyway. What ticks me off is the fact that they are charging me for a format that these channels already are broadcasting in. It costs Comcast NOTHING EXTRA. Now why should I have to get a box just to watch channels that I had last week? And AT NO EXTRA COST> If I don't get a box, and can't get these channels anymore - WILL I GET A CHEAPER RATE?? of course not - they'll just raise my rates again.....
