Um, 83/Queen not close to the City?? Do you live in York? The "city" doesn't just encompass Market/George/Princess/King/Du ke, etc ... The way the ciy is set up is one block "nice" ... the next block ghetto. And we're not talking about college rent-a-cops, we're talking YCPD. Everyone knows that campus police never do anything!! Also, judging by the numerous "underage drinking" citations that come down, I'd say the females get busted just as much as the fellas ... I don't go to YC so I can't comment on how the campus police treat females.
I83 & Queen is well outside of the city limits. That is in another township which is patrolled by someone other than YCPD.

You people whine when the police do something at the college and continue to whine when they aren't standing on every block. Make up your minds already!

Intoxicated student, makes choice to get drink, and walk alone.

Now both of the these choices some will claim is his right, even entitlement some may say.

However when he does this, he represents the very victim that thugs look for...thugs will pick the low hanging fruit everytime, just like the cops will pick the low hanging fruit to avoid these robberies.

Where were you this time Officer Wentz? When you are actually needed, your cowardly a$$ is nowhere to be found. You, like so many others from the York City Police Department, are an utter waste. I bet if these thugs were under 21 and drinking a beer you would have them down at central booking by now.

YOU ARE CLUELESS!!! YCPD has 3-4 officers assigned to the college area paid for by the college. This can be checked through the college nitwit. Also 83/ Queen St. is on the other side of SpringGarden Twp from the city and is actually in York Township. So again, not even close to the city... Or have you been meaning 83/ George St.??? and check with some males that live around Murphs and see what the ratio of arrests are.

Dear YDR, Do you ever Proof Read ? I see this all the time on your stories. Ill be more than happy to do it for you for a salary. Let me know. lol
While he was down, Lutz said, he was hit and knocked out briefly. When he woke up, the robbers told him to run, police said.

"Told him to run"

Not "the run". Maybe they will give you a part time janitor job.

Why protect and serve? Why not get your ass's out of the sector car and do the job you are being paid to do. YCPD are the laughing stock of the law enforcement community. The hell with the robberies, drug dealing and assaults. Raid a Frat house or write a jaywalking summons.Do this between doughnut runs and porkrind fests. York City is a mess. Replace these nitwits with circus clowns. They both are a laugh riot.
What is a sector car? I guess if that sector car was equipped with a crystal ball the cop could have consulted it and forseen the robbery. But I agree with you all YCPD officers should be replaced with all the York College students that post against them here. I'd love to see what would be going on in the city at the end of that first week. There'd be "sector" cars fleeing the city code 3 headed for MD.

Love how the article does not talk about how he was pistol whipped and ordered to the ground with a barrel pressed against the back of his head...

Story is surprisingly lacking in details

I'm not surprised that more and more students living off campus in york city are now carrying.

Local thugs preying on the college kids. Where the hell are the cops and public safety. This city is a joke. Parents beware... do not send you're kids to York College. They get no protection. If they drink or have a loud party Yorks finest will be right there. Ask them to get in the face of a real thug and they soil there pants. YPD and Campus Security area joke. The city is a shi&hole.
apparently the cops prey on them, too.

No, honey, my answer is do something about it or shut the F!@# up. Whining about how bad the city is won't do anything. Lobby, write to congress, protest, anything. The reason our ancestors got the results they wanted with the government is because they got off their butts and made their voices heard. We're a society today that sits in front of a computer screen and complains rather than get up, get out and do something about it.

Equip any of York's Police cars or Sector cars with cops that want to do their job. Not a bunch of do-nothings who are afraid to get their fat Ass's out and confront the welfareites who are the city's real problem. If you don't know what a Sector Car is you are a true nitwit. Go paint you're trailer Jethro.

Why don't a couple of York College students (big hefty ones) get dressed in cammies or BDU's. Then they could hide in the bushes and send one of their brothers out as a drunken decoy. "Here I am, all alone...just a white college kid...I drank too much..take my wallet"...

Then when the urbanite trolls who live on the dole and other people's earnings attack...curb stomp the h#** out of them...

Of you that are complaining about YCPD, are you becoming police officers?
Everyone that complains about police officers always have bigger and better ideas, and know how to do things better. But when they are called upon to help the police, they step back, and don't want to be involved.

Just gotta say I really like your idea. It's a tad vigilantish, but it's still a super idea. Knock the living sh*t out of those "bugs in the night". Remember though, dude's got a gun, so be real quick. He'll never know what hit him. Oh, wear gloves, so in case he does have a gun you can cap him in his leg or butt (so he knows what it feels like to be shot), and leave the gun. It'll still have his fingerprints on it for the police. Be sure to call 911 when you're done so his sorry a$$ doesn't lay on the sidewalk too long.
