While down, the victim was hit, knocked out briefly, and when he woke up he was told the run, police said.

- HE WAS TOLD THE RUN -(The run of the mill ?)

Dear YDR, Do you ever Proof Read ? I see this all the time on your stories. Ill be more than happy to do it for you for a salary. Let me know. lol

Local thugs preying on the college kids. Where the hell are the cops and public safety. This city is a joke. Parents beware... do not send you're kids to York College. They get no protection. If they drink or have a loud party Yorks finest will be right there. Ask them to get in the face of a real thug and they soil there pants. YPD and Campus Security area joke. The city is a shi&hole.

Should have stayed at the party and waited for the cops - they would have showed up sooner or later........

Are you sick of the jokes calling themselves " York City Police"
Are you tired of a Mayor and Police Commission who are ineffective?
Perhaps the sight of police cars "hanging out" all over the city vs patrolling has you upset?

I want you stories of lazy cops not doing their jobs and pictures of cars sitting in parking lots for hours on end! Let's show Commissioner Whitman the door!

Most of the time they don't. These articles are sensationalized and often in error. I don't know why they've abandoned Who-What-When-Where-Why-How and finding second source confirmation.

Most of all, I'd like to see how much of their subscriptions have fallen in the last 3 years. I can't believe I'm the only one to cancel.

Let me give you an example of how this newspaper now sensationalizes a story. The headline reads: Man breaks arm during York robbery

Wouldn't any reasonable person assume that this man broke his arm during his commission of a robbery? Well, he didn't do the robbing; he was the victim.

Why protect and serve? Why not get your ass's out of the sector car and do the job you are being paid to do. YCPD are the laughing stock of the law enforcement community. The hell with the robberies, drug dealing and assaults. Raid a Frat house or write a jaywalking summons.Do this between doughnut runs and porkrind fests. York City is a mess. Replace these nitwits with circus clowns. They both are a laugh riot.

I guess Jesse Lutz WAS injured if he was hit and knocked out. It's such ashame that York has such prevalent crime. My son was also mugged when he was a student at York College.

It sucks that college kids are targeted ... and it's true that the cops are quick to busts the parties but don't patrol the area other than that. The fact that cops care more about underage drinking than assaults is appalling!!! I live in the city and I hardly ever see the cops patrolling the area. But I always see them sitting at 83/Queen waiting to get the really "bad guys" -- the speeders!! I recommend college kids get concealed carry permits & handguns and start protecting themselves since apparently the police aren't!!! As high as tuition is at YC and as many students that add to the local economy, you’d think YC administration would be up in arms questioning why the city refuses to protect students and prefers harassing them!!!!

Hey there, Voice: Since "Smilin Jimmy" McClure became the big cheese, cheese id often spelt chese. You get my drift. There are just too many Ws in all those things you listed for most of the staff to deal with, and confirming sources went out with the baby's bathwater a LONG time ago. Besides, McClure never confirms any of his "historical" sources, so why would he suggest anyone else do otherwise?
It really has gotten to be pathetic. I wish the YDR would just fold and be done with it.

See what happened here? Wentz went to check on the bigger crimes elsewhere in the city that some of you keep referring to, and look what happened. The crime oozed right around him, and got down to the college area. Maybe you need him back there now. It's either too many cops or not enough. Just can't satify you guys. But really, crimes can happen anywhere, anytime. Nobody but the criminal knows where it's going to happen before it does. So you can't expect a police officer from any department, anywhere, to be in the exact place that a crime is going to occur at the time it does (except in some rare instances). The victim did have an officer available to take his report, and broadcast a description (as if black hoodie, jeans, and sneakers is going to do any good). And to the victim: Didn't you know that York City is an unsafe place to walk.....alone? Where were your buds when you needed them? Always walk in pairs (at least), especially at night. But not too many, or you become a rancous, obnoxious gang, terrorizing the night, possibly being labeled "bugs in the night", and are liable to have the police show up when they're not needed/wanted. Oh, it's all very complicated, so just be careful out there!

83 and Queen St. is not even close to the city and the college pays for "Peanut Head" and his crew to only patrol the college area.... unless your a girl then you can do what you want

Um, 83/Queen not close to the City?? Do you live in York? The "city" doesn't just encompass Market/George/Princess/King/Du ke, etc ... The way the ciy is set up is one block "nice" ... the next block ghetto. And we're not talking about college rent-a-cops, we're talking YCPD. Everyone knows that campus police never do anything!! Also, judging by the numerous "underage drinking" citations that come down, I'd say the females get busted just as much as the fellas ... I don't go to YC so I can't comment on how the campus police treat females.
