If you are a pay grade 1 step a you will gross $1665.89 every other week. Regular overtime is around $32 an hour and they want to give those bums at NALC over a 3 percent pay increase. What's wrong with those dummies at the postal service. They illegally raised the postage up on some so called services. I can't believe they actually raised the rates on junk mail. This is the only thing keeping these morons open. Time to shut the postal service down now.

The PA bois are just noisemakers, because I've shut them down on other boards. When they complain about your pay, it's ironic they don't realize UPS makes 1/5 more. Better benefits and working conditions, too. Just SLAM the PA posters, it's ALL they deserve....LMAOROTF !

The U.S. Postal Service as we knew it is gone.
UPS, Fed-Ex, and others services are faster and cheaper.
Sending letters and cards are done VIA e-mail with few exceptions.
Standing in line at post offices went out with the dinosaurs.
Standing in line at the Post Offices didn't go out with the Dinosaurs where I live, our local PO is very busy, that is a FACT! I will speak for my area, and those who speak can do it for theirs with knowledge. It is not logical in any way, shape or form to do away with the USPS, but feasable to reduce the BENEFITS AND WAGES as all other employers are doing! If they don't like it, let 'em quit!

We got a new carrier in our neighborhood,,,what a joke,,you should see this loser. I think he gave up on hygiene in the 11th grade,if he even got that far. In addition he is a complete jerk. Walks all over yards,,,parks like an idiot,,,mean look on his face all the time.
Oh well,,what do we expect from such a losing entity like the USPS. Bunch of incompetent cry babies who are overpaid and underworked. No wonder they are losing billions.

I prefer using the post office. The UPS Store (Mailboxes Etc.) seems to charge very high rates. My only complaint is when a window clerk tries to trick me into using a higher priced delivery than I asked for. I suspect they are instructed to do this by their local post master but it is any annoying game.

Everyone I talk says the USPS performance has eroded over the past several years. I think its because the employees are pure idiots, loser, and crybabies.

That's a relief -- at least for the loose-boweled postman who just couldn't wait until he got to a bathroom, dropped trou and answered the call of nature in a Portland resident's yard. It seems he'd been on probation since the incident occurred, and has just been informed that he gets to keep his job.

About a month ago, a neighbor, Don Derfler, noticed the postal worker acting strangely, and decided to keep an eye on him, discreetly snapping a few photos. Derfler caught the carrier defecating, and sent the photos to authorities.

"We trust people like the Postal Service and meter readers and people of that nature," Derfler told a reporter from KATU in Portland. "To come on to our property and to defecate -- it's just wrong."

The postal worker had been on unpaid probation ever since.

After conducting a thorough investigation of the situation, the Postal Service announced it will allow the offending employee to keep his job, but they're putting him on a different route. Neither the postman's identity, nor his new route, have been released.

Did you just TOTALLY give up on blogs, old facts, useless rhetoric and go to name calling ? Did you REALLY call it a government run operation ? You don't know what you're talking about. One doesn't become an investor in the Postal Service by virtue of being a tax-payer, because USPS doesn't receive any tax revenues. If you want to invest, buy a stamp, at 44 cents a share. Furthermore, the Postal Service does not still have over 700,000 employees. It once did, but has shrunk by attrition, and the current figure is closer to 600,000. Finally -- and most importantly -- USPS's losses have nothing to do with poor management. To the contrary, Congress mandated the Postal Service to prepay 40 years of future retiree health costs within a 10 year period. No other entity -- public or private -- has ever been subject to such a draconian requirement, and it threw USPS into the red. The resulting $37 Billion escrow account was used by Congress to balance -- render "revenue neutral" -- some of its other spending. The Postal Service is the only government agency generating large amounts of revenue, and Congress treats it like a cash cow. USPS is expected to operate like a business -- that is, be self-supporting -- but is so highly-regulated that it cannot make ordinary, business-like, decisions, such as closing an unprofitable branch without, literally, an act of Congress. We should all hope that health care -- actually, health insurance -- reform operates as well as USPS.
