I am a rider on the Metrolink train and things like this really make my 5 hour per day commute a burden. I wish people would think before stepping in front of an oncoming train.

I believe this was a depressed high school girl who "stepped" in front of the train. I knew her and her father. Very sad. May your 5 hour per day commutes get a lot longer ... jerk.

I'm sorry to hear what an insensitive person you are. this was a teenage girl, One of MY friends. and she was KILLED in this accident. i hope you understand, a life is far more important than your 5 hour commute. it makes me sick when people like you have the nerve to make a comment like that.

What this "accident" shows is the fact that this girl obviously didn't have the support system around to help her deal with whatever was eating away at her. The "friendwhocares" here and her other family and friends apparently didn't care enough. I had friends die when I was in high school and i didn't jump in front of any trains. Suicide is on the up because with all the things that we have have that keep us connected to each other (i.e. cell phones, chat rooms, forums) we feel more isolated and alone than ever before. Death is a part of life, and if you don't teach children (even teenagers) how to deal with it, then they are broken and don't know what to do with themselves. We need to spend more time with our kids than the TV/Internet do.

The girl who was killed on Thursday actually went to my school. I think that it's pretty harsh to blame the people around her for "pushing" her to suicide. You don't even know her situation. Don't make assumptions.

And I do hope Metrolink Rider has more long 5 hour day commutes for his rudeness and insensitivity.

if more people killed themselves in this way you wouldn't have to commute by train.

That's awful for you to say! Maybe you should find other transportation if this is not working for you.

You know?? People that feel now sorrow for this is one more reason I left California and came to Coeur d' Alene Idaho, a place where people care and don't give a dam how much money you have or what car you drive.
A place where you can walk the streets at night and be safe.People who want ot help one another, not run you down.
Thank God I and my family moved out of your hell hole before it got to us.
I feel so sorry for you all, and pray for you.

A good friend of mind is a train engineer. He kills about 4-6 people a month.

I'm sure many of you feel sorry for the young girl that took HER life, but I do have to agree with the woman with the 5 hour commute.

Think about my friend the engineer. His work day is extended about 3-7 hours 4-6 times a month. Due to people comiting suiside.

Yes life is important, but so is the life of the others around you. Your choses and the chose of others can effect people in ways you don't realize.

I can go on but I think you get the point.

Suicide is never the answer. It's selfish at best.

My professor was on the train and that girl wasnt just walking on the tracks she stood there and watched the train come to her. She committed suicide and she cause a lot of trauma to the passengers. That was a personal issue that she was having so she should have done that in the privacy of her home. I feel for the family, but that was not a good desicion to act out the way that she did. God bless her soul amd have mercy on all the ones who say harmful things.

Anyone who thinks that this girl made a bad decision on HOW to kill herself rather than WHY she killed herself is completely heartless. Who are you to judge her? She obviously felt no other way out. So to you people whose commute got a few hours longer or those who kill 4-6 people in one month, I say to you that maybe you should get out of your own selfish bubble and realize that a young girl with promise and heart, one who had family and friends and a life, is now dead. And with all these things you're saying you're disrespecting her and everyone who cared about her. And those people who were haunted by the way she just stood there staring at the train should be haunted by that. Maybe next time they see someone standing on the tracks waiting for a train to hit them, they'll call the police or MAYBE FOR ONCE TAKE THINGS INTO THEIR OWN HANDS!!!! Honestly, how much more rude could you people be? Not are you only flat out disrespecting her, you're also thinking that you yourself and your acerbic opinion is holy and great and the truth. Scum of the earth right there.

I know what its like to lose someone who did this.. i have a sister who actually did this.. she jumped in front of a train.. its just so sad to see people do this.. i think the worst possible way to death is by train, or suicide. suicide in itself is very selfish and it just leaves everybody clueless of why the person even did it, and when they do it, its just so final and gruesome, its even sadder because you dont even get to say goodbye to them.. ive been trying to move on, its just really sad and i give all my condolences to the family.. i feel really sorry for them, and only God can help them through this tough situation. we all have to realize that everything happens for a reason.. its just sad that sometimes things like this have to happy..
