Jerri Denise,
Well after these three years you may see justice or at least get some answers. I have read this blog for years and kept my mouth shut. Jerry Parks was my Sgt when I entered the police department in the early 70's. He and I attended a few schools together and he ran a good department under the late Dave Parkman who was Chief at the time. Jerry would came back to Forrest City after he moved to LR and we would always meet for coffee. We were all shoched when we got the news about his murder.I hope the authoritys can break the DR's case and your Dads.

One of the funny things he always did was before he drank coffee from a cup he would always take the napkin and wipe out the cup. We would laugh at him. I have the pic of our department with him in it.Several of us are watching the case.

I would love to have a copy of that picture, if you don't mind. I don't have alot of pictures of my dad. My parent's divorced when I was three...so I have those pictures. Jane keep a distance between him and I. I only really had him the first three years of my life and the last few years of his. Through out my life, I saw him at Christmas. But she made me feel unwelcome. She was a real work of art. From what I understand she was mean to David's sons also. Didn't want them around.

Talking about funny things he did. When I was a kid, visiting him over the holiday...We would be in Scaggs Alpha Beta (grocery store)...People everywhere...and he would let one rip, then walk away and the people around would think I did it.

Murder suspect in Millstein case reappears in Baxter County court

A Tennessee man charged in the slaying of Dr. David Millstein will be represented by two public defenders qualified for death penalty cases, according to statements made in court Thursday.

Gary Wayne Parks, 39, of Germantown, Tenn., appeared Thursday in Baxter County Circuit Court. He is charged with capital murder in the death of Millstein, who was his stepfather, authorities said.

Police found Millstein stabbed to death June 18, 2006, after police conducted a well-being check at his home. Millstein was a urologist with his own practice and also worked at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

Local public defender Lou Marczuk told Circuit Judge John Putman that the Arkansas Public Defender Commission accepted the case and will be appointing two death penalty-qualified attorneys.

The charge of capital murder carries a possible death penalty sentence if a jury determines aggravating factors have been met, prosecutors said.

14th Judicial District Prosecutor Ron Kincade said he wanted to get the case scheduled for trial as quickly as possible, and Marczuk asked that it not be set until the two attorneys were appointed.

"The state's prepared to move forward," Kincade said. "We need an attorney of record to move forward with."

Kincade suggested a trial be set within five to six months.

Putman told Parks to reappear Feb. 11 for attorney status. Putman also said he would like to release the probable cause affidavit to the public as soon as possible. The affidavit is currently sealed at the prosecutor's request, because the case remains under investigation.

Marczuk also said he would let the attorneys of record discuss bond, but Kincade said the charge of capital murder has no bond.

I worked with Dr. Millstein at the hospital. I saw him the friday before his murder. My kids and I were picking out father's day cards at walgreens in mtn. home after work and he walked up and started helping the kids pick cards out for their dad. I talked to him about his plans for the weekend and we joked for a few (he was always cheerful and fun to talk to). He asked me where the nailpolish remover was. I took him to it and I said "acetone or non-aceton?" He said that he didn't know about those things and I asked "does your wife have real nails or fake" and he said real. He got the nail polish and checked out. I waved and said goodbye and he did the same. I won't ever forget the smile he had on his face as he walked out the door. I didn't know that was a big deal or anything until I told people at work the next week. I was told that his wife didn't live with him. Is this true? Anyway I called the police department and told them about the encounter and they asked if I saw him with anyone. I told them that he was in the store alone and that walgreens had security cameras outside in the parking lot to see if there was anyone in the car with him. I don't know if it helps anything, but you never know. I am just thankful I got to talk to him one last time before his untimely death.

Ms. Bones - no his wife did not live with him. She was living in Little Rock/Maumelle at the time of his death. I only met the doctor once but he seemed like a really good man. I have a hard time believing that the step-son did it in that I have known him for most of my life, but I will trust in the Lord and the officers to do the right thing.

Ms. Bones,

No she did not live with him. I never met David but I have heard that he was an awsome doctor and person. I just wish Little Rock would have made an arrest a long time ago because if they had David's sons would still have their dad.

The Day that Jerry Parks Was Murdered Gary Parks Was at My House, He was laying around trying to Make sense out of What Life Was for Him at that Time, He wasn't stalking his father or planning any murder, His Car wasn't running right and If i remember Right he was hung over and cooking something to eat when the call came that his father had been in an accident, So if your trying to say he had anything to do with his fathers murder then you are Just making it up yourself, He didn't have a gun, he didn't have the cash to buy a gun, He didn't have the capability to arrange two trained men to gun down his father, He was doing pretty well in car sales if i remember correctly, he was more concerned with getting his life going than ending his fathers life. Gary and Mike both had thier fathers motivation for getting ahead, So Yes I end My Several Year Silence on these issues to say for the record that there is no hidden axe murderer named Gary Parks, I wasn't in the same situation or position with the doctor as i was when his father was killed, If i was to make a guess i would say that Mountain Home Police arresseted Gary to Fullfill thier Pledge last year to make an arrest before christmas this year.
Gary and i Haven't been close friends for 15 years, however i remember that if there would have ever been someone he would have knifed or beat to death in his life it would have probably been me, and he never put his hands on me or anyone else i have seen in my life, So that asks is he the kind of guy that could knife someone multiple times for some kind of cash benefit, and I can't see it, I think when it all comes out and the closed secrets are made public that this is o5ne of those politically motivated face saving moves of the police department or of the whole city of mountain home i don't know, but I do know that if Gary would have killed this guy that he wouldn't have been findable when they came looking, he is smart enough for that part,.. I mean in the world of CSI does it really take 3 years to file charges? and 3 days before promised in a newspaper? there are way too many questions out there and no answers, Do you realize all the things about the Good Doctor that are not in the public knowledge? and whatever money jane recieved back was her money anyway, she invested alot in his clinic and basically lost all of that with his death, so she didn't gain from this at all. ok thats all i need to say for another year or so.. Im taking bets if anyone wants to gamble on if gary parks killed the dr,,

And just to throw this in, Jerry Parks Knew he was going to be killed, he called a meeting at his office and told all there that it was just when not if, he changed his will, he made decisions that were to be enforced on his death, Why he never pulled his gun is probably easy to figure, he was shot from behind with a pretty high powered round 9mm the police say, if he was hit in the torso at first he would be trying to control the vehicle and while the other rounds hit him he was just being spun it was enough that he got the door open and got out at all, only to be shot the last few times, the blood on the highway told me that story, they shot him in the middle of the turn onto highway 10, the road isn't the way it is now at 300 and 10 and chenal, you had to go over the hill to turn onto highway 300.. he was professionally killed, the story i heard was some men met in hot springs pulled staws and the two short ones took the job. and murders like this don't happen when untrained unskilled amateurs and wannabees are involved, the police never even looked at the family, they didn't even question me, even though i was garys alibi. from what i heard and saw that night he was killed when all the police and agents from everywhere were going through the house, they knew what they were looking for, they took things without leaving reciepts or an inventory, they never blinked a eye at me, never asked a question.. they knew what had happened, the only concern seemed to be How to get anything that could be considered evidence or material that someone would kill about, how to get access to jerrys office and house and attic and storage, which they did, still never questioning me or the many other men with me, silently standing guard for the wave of attack, which was threatened, notes were left, threats were made.. it was REAL.. and by the way I have also been with gary shooting alot back then, and I know he is in a jail cell right now so i will just say it,... Gary couldn't hit a moving tree at 20 feet with a pistol.

One more thing, my dad never called a meeting t his office and told no one that he was going to be killed. That is a bold face lie. You see, I have talked with everyone that worked for my dad and that scum bag...never happened.

Since Gary's arrest, I have received several calls from "Big Time" people who are coming to Arkansas to help me. Done met with them once. You can let Mike and his gold digger mother know that if it is the last thing I do......I will watch them ALL go down for my dad's murder and for David's.

Any person who would have his baby girl in a drug house when it is being raided would also murder someone. Gary and Mike are nothing like our father. They are their mother made over. Dad was not proud of either one of them.

Yes I lived in the town of Roland, about 8 miles down highway 300, Amazingly that house was just broken into and searched to the point of every drawer dumped, carpet pulled up, they moved all the furniture, completely went through a whole room of stacked boxes to the point pieces and things from that room were scattered all over the house, did i mention doors kicked in, and ohh did i also mention in the same 36 hours that my place in hot springs was burned to the ground... I Mean burned to the ground... So i have lost everything that was in the house here, I am presently putting the pieces back together in my life and I have just had all of this i can take, I have nothing to hide nothing to fear, The truth is the truth,
