Gay in NEPA on the Next State of Pennsylvania on WVIA-TV

2009-10-23 It is estimated that between 8 and 10 percent of northeastern Pennsylvania's population is gay. Correspondent Suzanne Kapral-Kelly welcomes panelists who will address being Gay in NEPA on the next State of Pennsylvania Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. on WVIA-TV .

OH I'm ready for a bashing and I can take it.

This refers to a television show about gays in our area that will be on the television THIS THURSDAY.

Our area, unfortunately, is full of prejudice so at least try to watch the show and, as you do, think about living in peace with the gay people in our community.

Also, remember that there are young people who are afraid of coming out because of the lack of acceptance within families. Consequenctly, the gay suicide/depression rate is very high and should concern everyone.

Why should it concern me? Please explain.

Hmmmm.
It should concern you if you are full of hate and prejudice...in which case you should try to heal yourself (if you believe in God) by ridding yourself of hate.

And, since no one knows, 100%, who is and is not gay in his/her family, the harm prejudice and hatred inflicts on (especially) young gays could cause your family to have an unfortunate happening. This alone should make a prejudiced person want to change their ways.

And lastly, gays are a part of humanity, whether we like it or not. We can accept them as fellow Americans, OR, fight with them.

If someone is not pushing their way of living in my face, I don't care what they do. Of course, this does not apply to major moral infractions such as pedophilia (a gay and straight issue), rape and abuse of any form.

Here in town I run across many forms of hatred that is against peaceful AMericans, and I think these hating people should just pack up and leave town.

Just my view as an American.

I, also, see myself as a true conservative (not a Republican).

If you hate, you are no better than those extremist Muslims who hate everyone who is NOT LIKE THEM, even if they are peace-loving and kind.

Next, I would be interested in knowing why there is so much animosity towards blacks in Tamaqua. All the ones I see are reserved and, in return, I go out of my way to let them know they are welcome neighbors.
There are also a few bi-racial couples who I have no problem with.
If you hate these people, let it out. Speak about it and make your case. Who knows, maybe we'll all convert to your way of thinking.
