Leon man sentenced to jail

A Leon man will spend at least two years in jail after he pleaded guilty to two counts of driving under the influence causing death.

You talk about a mixed up message. One brother kills two people, and gets basically a year in jail, the other has sex with an inmate, and he gets 5 ? I guess its better to kill than to have sex.
What really bothers me is the whole DUI as an excuse. Give me a break! No one forced the guy to drive or drink, just like no one forced the inmate to have sex with his brother. Good old Mason Co. for you. Always heard if you want to kill someone Mason Co. WV was the place to go, but remember dont have sex with them.

I know Huntington is bad, yet Mason County is a cesspool that needs to be booted off the face of the earth. If there was ever an intolerant, bigoted, ignorant piece of dung heap like this one, this is the one to avoid. Is it any wonder WV gets a bad name when you have counties like this that fly Rampant with corruption? Nothing gets done for the kids as elected officials squander the grants and budgets on asinine vanity projects. If you're black, Latino, gay, or any other minority, avoid this place like the plague.

Since when did being drunk become enough of a defense to let a guy off for committing double murder? From what i've been told, there were no skid marks indicating Mccormick attempted to brake before hitting the ATV. Wade Ray had to physically detach the ATV from the car, he hit it so hard. Hey Damon, what about the witnesses at the bar who stated that Mccormick had made threats against the victims that same night, or the jail house confession Petersen got when Mccormick stated to his wife that he was "fucked for killing 2 people" Yeah, I know all about you and your close relationship with old man Mccormick and the whole county knows about you being a drunk. But what kind of message do you send when you "forgive" every drunk that comes up for trial?

This sentence does seem lenient. I guess because there wasn't an intent to murder. Obviously getting in a car while intoxicated could result in death.
I think the drinking and DUI issue has a lot to do with culture. Do you realize that most countries have very lenient BAC level laws but also see less car accidents.
Americans are far to entitled and indulgent. We teach our children that they should have and do whatever they like. It starts with teaching boundaries early in life. This issue goes far beyond drinking and driving, but eating, shopping, over-spending, etc.....

I think people do stuff so they can go to jail or prison because they get everthing. they dont pay bills go to the doc for free. get thir meals for free. get thir ed'for free.they get t.v radio.

why be ignorant and act like mason is the only county thats bad. its not just here, its everywhere stupid...open ur eyes, look around...hell, ur probably one that give wv a bad name in the first place...its not just a county, its usa at its finest...so dont run ur mouth until u know for sure what our elected officials are squandering....dumb ass

the mccormick deal is bogus. he knows what he done...although he is saying he hit an "empty" 4wheeler. LOL! who in their right mind would believe such bullchit? that 4wheeler was going down the road on its own i reckon! story was/is...he had been messing around with the female killed & was in a jealous so to speak rage that night.
a little payoff & he gets a plea bargain. hell yeah he took it because he knows if he went to trial hed be buried in prison. too many know what happened that night. insider is right...there were no skidmarks to show he tried to avoid hitting the 4wheeler.
word as of late is they are working on getting him released to home confinement. why not? his 2 brothers are on it so he may as well be also. 1 for driving/drinking on revoked for like the 15th time, & hes still driving. LOL. the other for the prison sex thing. so hey...whats 1 more?
timmy will get whats coming to him eventually. and i hope im there to see it.
