David has been a good Sheriff and worked hard for this county. It may just be the rumor mill but I've heard that Tony is planning on "cleaning house" if he wins the election. I know the staff at the Sheriff's Office is really concerned about this and it concerns me that he only has two years of experience. I agree tough times are ahead economically but law enforcement will not change, and we will need someone that has the experience necessary to keep the budget balanced and a good working relationship with other departments. Dave has already proven his record at that. I will continue to vote for David Waddell as long as he continues to do a good job with his department.

VOTE FOR DAVE WADDELL AGAIN!

I would love to tell you a lil bit about David Waddell!
* Graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Center in 1996.
* Has been a certified Emergency Medical Technician for 16 years.
* Has Served Woodson County for 13 years as both law enforcement and volunteering for the ambulance service.
* 7 of his 13 years of service has been in an administrative position both as Undersheriff and Sheriff
* Has has thousands of hours of continuing education in both law enforcement and emergency medical services.

David's education and experience far surpasses that of Tony Bauer's. In reference to the posts for Tony Bauer and change, I would like to point you towards Embarassed post on the first page for some of the things that David has accomplished in the last four years. David has been changing the Sheriff's Office for the better and I think we should let him continue his career here in Woodson County.
Vote for Dave!
Bauer for Sheriff

[Known the Bauer family for years.
Bauer has been part of this communityfor many years, He only moved to Eureka when he went to work over there as deputy.
Bauer has done alot of research in concern with Woodson County.and what is going on in the county.
He is wiser than some would think. He is an honest person.
A new sherif for Woodson County, doesn't mean the current deputies will lose their jobs. If there are doing their jobs.
Change is for the greater good of the county.
A sherif that will enforce the laws and not protect the quilty just because he knows them.
So please talk to Bauer if you have more concerns.
Don't just revote the current sherif back into office because he lives there.
Mr. Bauer will be residing in Yatescenter if elected.
Thanks for listening to someone that has known Bauer for may years.

I would like every one to know that Tony is a Christian non drinking Man.

Tony will be sober and ready for any call that comes his way.

I have heard Tony say he is not going to change the staff that wants to stay and work with him. He is kind and easy to work with.

He also had alot of Training. At his meet and greet he had a table of certificates that he has had traing for.

Your Vote for BAUER FOR SHERIFF will ensure that you have a sober Sheriff 24/7.

A comment for "Worried" Give Tony a call before you spread rumors that are not ture.

Thank you for the maturity of your intry. We need more positive talk here. Its a 50/50 shot. But David built it to where it is today. He deserves to continue the greatness that he's doing.
David has been Sheriff here for 4 years. Before holding that position he was our Undersheriff. AND....before that a deputy in this community. 13 years total in serving Woodson County.

"Thank you answering my Question. It sound like both are qualified for the postion."

I would like to agree to disagree on this issue. Both candidates are able to run for the position according to the State of Kansas. Only one of the candidates are truly qualified for this position.

I'm not saying that Tony Bauer is not a good person, officer, or would not be a good candidate for Sheriff someday.

It takes more than a few classes and a couple of years experience to be a good sheriff. Tony is still wet behind the ears as an officer. Most (not all) of the employees currently at the sheriffs office have more experience and training than he does. I have seen nothing regarding ANY administrative experience that he has. Our current sheriff has over seven years of experience in administration IN WOODSON COUNTY! Tony should take the time to gain the experience he needs and move up the ladder and then run again when he is better qualified. By electing an inexperience individual (no matter how much common since and good intentions he may have) puts the safety of the community and the effectivenes of the sheriff's office at risk. Call me conservative but I want to know that when I vote that person has proven their capability, and Sheriff Waddell has done that. There is no such thing as a perfect department and every organization may have a bump or two in the road, but David has made excellent improvements during his time in administration and he has earned the right to continue on as Sheriff.
Continue to Support Sheriff Waddell!

Correction, David was Mike Hinnen's Undersheriff and Mark Mark Taylor's Undersheriiff. A deputy under Mark Brilke.
Duties as Undersheriff Waddell done all administrative (budget, inventory, patrol duputy administrator). The currant Undersheriff duties are to assist the Sheriif with administrative duties. David is in and out of office all day and night. David also parols with his deputies in the evenings. His hours are basically 24/7.
Question

Wichita, KS

#57 Oct 15, 2008
What does David intend to do to discourage our children/teenagers from drinking? Does he intend to require, i.e. mandate that all deputies issue citations for any minor found possessing and/or consuming alchol in the county? Does David intend to make any changes in his current staff?

How many search warrants have been executed in Woodson County in the last four years? How many arrests for possession/sale of illegal drugs?

Same questions for Anthony Bauer.

Question

I think those are questions that should be directly asked of David Waddell and Tony Bauer, none of us should be speaking for them on this blog site

Please Don't put Down Tony, or defend Dsvid. I can may my own mind. Just stick to the facts. Neither should have anything to hide. If they are running for sheriff we should know they what they stand for and how they handle there life is important. Because that how they deal with important decision they have to face in the line of duty. How they treat there family, is how they will deal with the public.

Now I have heard from other people on the site how Tony is with his family how many kids he has and what church he tends. We havn't heard anything about David family, what does he enjoy doing, what church does he goto. I don't want the negative.
