He says he exaggerated (lied) about the dollar amount because the money is needed to run the Health Centers. Did he forget that he already sold the Health Centers to a private company? You now have caught him in a lie in addition to the fact he broke the law. Is it time to impeach him yet? By the way, whatever happened to that new Health Commissioner he hired last year. Why do we not hear from him?

You are wrong. Either YOU are lying, or you are just misinformed. The Health Centers were NOT sold, the Medicaid managed care HMO plan the county operated was sold, but those patients who were members of the plan keep using the health centers for primary care AND the county gets an additional $3.5 million in fees from the company who bought the managed care plan to use the health centers. Its a win win.

I think people are finally starting to realize that Levy is full of lies and misconceptions for his own political gain. He is obviously not what Suffolk County needs. There is a difference between a financial conservative and a maniac that simply wants to dismantle Suffolk County government and push county obligations and mandated services to other branches of government. The man has some issues. Give me my county services back, staff the positions that have been budgeted for and I'll gladly pay a $100 (the price of 1 tank of gas in my truck) increase in my taxes. When you can save me a few grand on my school taxes we'll talk, but all of Levy's nonsense over a few dollars is costing the county residents dearly.

I agree, the plans Levy has come out with are nothing more then smoke and mirrors...he has duplicated police services by purchasing boats, and other equipment for the sheriff that the SCPD already had. He charges the taxpayers for staff positions he never intends to fill. He lies about the numbers for JJ Foley, for 911 and god knows what else. I'm all for lower taxes, but this game of his is going to cost us all in the end when we have no police department no health services..and just a bare bones County goverment filled with Levy's pals.

Steve Levy wants what's best for taxpayers here of which he is one. He grew up in Holbrook. He went to Sachem, he's a level-headed guy who grew up middle class, not rich. Legislature vs. Executive office. They oppose themselves when they oppose each other. It has always been a power struggle between those two entities no matter who is the Suffolk County Executive. What's the third balance of power governing us in Suffolk County?

1.Steve Levy could care less about the tax-payer. Steve Levy wants what's best for steve Levy-period. It's all smoke and mirrors to get items off his budget and back to the state or feds. We'll be paying for these items one way or another, but Levy can say, "Blame the state or blame the feds. It's not on MY budget."
2. Level headed? I think not. Have you been paying attention to anything concerning Levy in the news. The man is a lunatic, who doesn't know how to negotiate for things as Nassau does. Just look at all the grants Nassau will receive and all of the assistance Suffolk will lose thanks to his ranting, raving, threatening and carrying on like a child.
3. Not only did he grow up in Holbrook, but he still lives there...in the same house...in his Mom's basement...and he's still the same arrogant runt he was in high school, but he has some power now.

To "Levy Must Go" I agree completely. I first noticed something was wrong when he came up with the idea of deregulating the HOV lane last year. He has gotten progressively worse since then. It is not a pretty sight.

You are wrong, so very wrong, it's hard to know where to start. Vacant positions are not budgeted, so you're not being taxed for them. And what is your proof that Levy is lying about JJF numbers? The numbers are solid, read the reports, go to the source data, don't just listen to the drivel the union spouts out, that is completely self serving, try thinking for yourself. Congressman Bishop almost got hoodwinked by the union this week, but he woke up and cancelled his press conference before the union made a monkey of him.

Try reading the article before just spewing out a post, buddy. The fact that Levy exaggerated (nice word for lied) was brought out by a report released by the Budget Review Office.

Let's see. Only 74 days until Santa Claus arrives.

Well, "oh brother", Levy will be sitting next to him with fantasy goodies for all of us.

Levy wants what's best for taxpayers? How about no taxes?

Works for me!

Try reading the Budget Review Office report in addition to the newspaper article before you spew out a post declaring that the Budget Review Office report as reported in Newsday is right. Do you believe everything you read in the paper?

Does the word "exaggerate" get used by Budget Review at all in the report? NO, it does not, I know, because I've read the report. That's a Newsday headline writer trying to create controversy to sell papers.

Just because Budget Review puts a number in a report, doesn't mean it's right, especially when the numbers are not substantiated. Oh, and it just happens that the report backs up the presiding officer's opinions on the nursing home, think that is coincidence too? Who does Budget Review report to? The presiding officer. The report doesn't even mention the biggest issue with the facility is the union costs and that four reports have all concluded that the facility will lose tens of millions a year forever with the existing union contract - you just can't run a 24/7 facility on that contract.

If you're a newspaper reader, read the quote by Lindsay this week where he says the ecnonomy "isn't so bad." Then tell me where you think his judgement is.

I wonder if stress is getting to him, because he acts quite bizaar at times. Paranoia, a deep resentment against his police force, rejection from his Legislature, and a Napolian complex, has little Stevie going off the deep end.

I don't care about popularity contests. I want him to do for what he's paid to do, lead a county. Stop the constant bickering like a cchild.

Very intelligent response - skip the debate and the facts, go straight for the playground name calling. Sounds like a McCain/Palin stategy - "it's not the econonmy, it's Obama associating with a 1960s radical! The fundamentals of the economy are just fine!" Amazing alternate reality.

Noty only is Nobama Hussein associated with a 60's radical, but William Ayers is a terrorist that was involved in bombing USA Govt. buildings.....HE WAS IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A TERRRORIST WHO IS ANTI-AMERICAN. Anyone who votes for this Obama guy has got their head up their a$$,unless you don't want to work for a living and want govt handouts,(that is what Nobama Hussein is about...takin care of the low lives) but this is a diff. topic. I can see now why you have the views you do on Levy.

I was a patient at J,J. Foley last year for a
total of about six months. I suffered a severe
reaction to Lyme disease and as a consequence entered
the facility not knowing how I got there. If it had
not been for all the staff at Foley and the assistance of my brother, Captain Gordon I. Peterson
U.S.N.(RET.), who is a currently military aide to Sen.Webb from Virginia.
Since Peconic County is now a reality I think Mr.Levy should be counting trees in Siberia.
