Just read an article that the village paid $20k to clean up 12" of light powder. A great savings from the $35k paid for the 3 feet of heavy snow from Nemo last year. Who is doing this cleanup? Good luck with that budget. Any chance they will use that new sweeper to clean up the salt/sand?

Geez I'm sure the streets will be cleaned of the salt and sand when spring arrives .Why clean them now when we still have a chance of snow.

Most municipalities sweep the streets in April, after the threat of snow is over. With some people, you're damned if you do and also when you don't.

Here is a link to the Long Island Advance article. You may get an untrusted page notice, so I copied a portion of the article for you. Think it is time to FOIL these no bid contracts. https://www.gardendept.com/articles/2014/01/0... article ran 1/11/14

or

Officials spent about $20,000 on outside contractors to undertake the village’s snow removal,$15,000 less than last year’s winter storm, Nemo, which cost $35,000, according to Biondi.

Biondi said the village’s contractors ran around the clock, working almost 38 hours from Thursday until Saturday afternoon.

If anyone thinks the estimated cost of clearing about a foot of blowing snow, under blizzard conditions for part of the storm, is unreasonable....you have to question their motives.

you can also question the motives behind NO BID CONTRACTS to friends and family for snow plowing. I wonder how much of that 20 grand went to Gary's family? 10? 15 grand? As long as they get paid, I guess all the lies were worth it.
No matter what this village does, it will always be remembered as being formed on lies and run by nepotism and closed door deals.

It must suck to be you! Every living minute all you do is spew anti Gary or anti-village venom. If you despise it so much, why don't you just get out there, with all your friends, and get the dissolution petition started?

because proving you morons wrong is more fun. You got the exact village that we said you would get. A closed door, nepotism run government who's sole purpose is to "get what we can and to hell with the rest". I bring up Gary because while most of the workers and trustees seem to not know what's going on, Gary has just decided to "benefit" more than the rest.
Things look SOOOO much better with the " vision" in charge.
And FYI.....it's AWESOME to be me.

why? It IS awesome being me? Ohhh, I see..... You're trying to imply that I'm "fabulous" because of someone's sexual orientation? I forgot, you morons have the maturity of a 9 year old. Keep up the fine work, the village looks FABULOUS with Gary in charge of the DPW.

No, you have to always get the last word? I don't think you notice, but I don't start threads, but I do comment whenever I feel like it. You can too.
