This article in the DDN has been writen as an attack on Dr. Kohls. They fail to cover the court reports of Baker, Dettweiller and various other employees that have had problems.

The DDN has been a mouthpiece for Baker for ten years. The rage has never seen a tax levy that they didn't endorse.

They didn't endorse Dr. Kohls, not because she was and is the most qualified person running, but because she did not endorse the levies.

The union did not endorse her. The babes of the NFSS did not endorse her. But guess what? She won by a landslide because the voters endorsed her!

Remember folks, the union will never support anyone that is not for taxes and more taxes. The "babes" of the NFSS will not endorse anyone that is not for more taxes, and the DDN and Larry Budd sure as hell won't ever give her a chance.

But ..........we the people will support her and hope that she can take the malevolent attacks on her and her familly for what they are. Idiots politicing for MORE MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS. It will take all the strength that she can muster to stand up to these freaks. I KNOW she has the courage to stand firm. Some of the rats have already abandoned the "ship." They know she is on the right track.

By the way, Colston has a job with Clearcreek Twp. helping to "manage" their money. I wonder if he is going to quit handling their millions too.

If he can't pay his taxes, should he be allowed to work in the township? Just wondering......

Just a few questions a great reporter would be asking. Of course, no one ever said Larry Budd or anyone else at the DDN could be considered anything but a purveyer of articles pretty much handed to them.(By Baker for example.)

Then Kelly Kohls licked the mess up to save the environment while Scott Anderson held her hair back! That's the team spirit!

I found this article in DDN 5/31/10 from a former teacher - who speaks from experience. Re "Teachers complain about being bullied", May 12: It saddens me deeply to see what has become of Springboro schools after reading the article about teachers & unfair labor practices.
As a former teacher in the district I was naive about life in the public sector. Now that I am on a different career path, I have come to realize that I had it great. I had a job with a guaranteed salary, great benefits, generous vacation time & wonderful working hours. I didn't know what the rest of the world has to do to receive such a beneficial career opportunity.
the responses of these teachers to our board member Kelly Kohls is embarrassing & disgusting.
prove to me fellow teachers, that our values are driven for the kids. nowhere in the private sector are we guaranteed anything.
If you are practicing what you preach, make your supplemental contracts voluntary, not paid. realize that most people are getting pay cuts; be thankful you at worst maintain an equitable (to say the very least) salary.
My family has chosen to enroll our children in parochial schools. Our kids can learn without air-conditioning, televisions, smart boards and multiple computers in each room with no less than 28 in each class, with every club, activity and sport being driven by volunteers.
Tip of the hat to K Luers for speaking the facts.

Of all the people who could write this type of editorial, Ms. Luers is NOT one who should be talking. She left the district under her own demands, whining, and a a huge chip on her shoulder that supplemented her own attitude of entitlement. One of the bad things going for Kelly is that too many of her supporters are those who have an axe to grind with the school (and if you know the whole story behind such people as Ms. Luers, you wouldn't be tipping your hat to her).

Think again - you need to get a life.

I hope and pray it will be in some other district. The "seven crones" are determined to destroy the district. I am sure you are one of them; stirring the pot.(Double double toil and trouble.)

TO THE SPRINGBORO SCHOOL BOARD:
DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ELDERLY CITIZENS, OTHERS ON FIXED INCOMES DON'T GET COST OF LIVING RAISES & MANY OTHERS WHO CAN'T AFFORD ADDED TAXES - IT'S DIFFICULT TO MAKE ENDS MEET NOW & YOU'RE THINKING OF PUTTING ANOTHER LEVY ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT. THERE IS STILL TOO MUCH "FLUFF" IN THE SCHOOL'S BUDGET THAT NEEDS TO BE CUT BEFORE YOU START ASKING FOR MORE TAXES. DO YOU NEED A FIFTH LEVY TO FAIL BEFORE YOU UNDERSTAND WE CAN'T AFFORD MORE THEM?

people on social security do get a built in cost of living (called a COLA) raise each year. The schools are on a fixed income too, but still get more new kids to educate every year.

Even with no new kids the cost of "living" goes up for the schools, but they get no automatic increase.

But they don't lose money really. What about those who planned for retirement and by no fault of their own they have lost a pension, value in stocks and may have enormus medical debt? How about someone who is younger loses all of the above as well as a job.

Schools are a business that do not lose money or make money. They just keep churning along confident that they'll get more money "automaticly" eventually by just holding kids hostage. My word why question how your money is stolen.

It is interesting how you see money going to educate children as money that is stolen from you. Not every child can be private or homeschooled, should we just have an ignorant society?

Yes when the voters have said to start cutting the Admin. positions and retirment perk and they chose not too. Make pay to play here to stay.

I think we do have an ignorant society now with people not knowing what part of their tax bill goes to the schools. Never question what the funds are for and what they go too, just sail on the good ship lolliepop.

Does anyone know if the home and car have been surrendered? I have a friend looking for some horses as well as a good deal on a used car. Are the Kohls liquidating? If they are let me know. May be able to find a buyer for that house and vacant land. Anyone know why they didn't try to list or sell their home and raw land instead of just filing? Just curious. Those decisions may lead to some good deals for paying consumers!
