Ever since the environmental kooks forced energy suppliers to make diesel with less sulfur, diesel fuel has outpaced gasoline in price by (at times) a dollar per gallon. I've heard rumors where it may get even worse, so anybody looking into a diesel better do their homework first.
I heard some guy say to my cousin's neighbor that he heard that some people might be saying, that they think Obamacare killed someone who they might have known, once. If you really want to see a "kook" in action, skip the environmentalists with their crazy notions that we need air and water to survive, and check out Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich agreeing with Sarah Palin that the Affordable Healthcare Act will bring on "Obamacare Death Panels". Those are her exact words and adults agreed with her. Prominent, Conservative adults I might add. Let's all say it together and try not to laugh at the inbred absurdity that is common place with the Tea Baggers. Now all together "Obamacare Death Panels. Obamacare Death Panels". Ahhh ha ha ha ha ha ha! You guys should be registered with the Feds as a cult. Anyone stupid enough to even imply "Obamacare Death Panels" are living in some delusional fantasy world and should be considered a threat to the human race.

Not a bad batting average if you ask me.

They also said that people would lose their insurance because of Commie Care. We did.

They also said that Commie Care would NOT decrease your premiums by $2,500 per year per family unless it was subsidized. Absolutely correct.

They also said that Commie Care would increase insurance premiums for employers. It did.

They also said that people will not be able to keep their insurance plan that they liked. Absolutely correct.

They also said some people will NOT be able to keep their doctors or even their hospital. Correct.

They also said that Commie Care would cost taxpayers a lot more than what DumBama said it was going to cost. Correct according the the CBO.

But the only thing that sticks out in your mind are the death panels. Figures......

In my market area, diesel is typically 10% more costly than gasoline but diesels tend to get 25%-30% more MPG's than gas in the identical vehicle.
Like you said, study is wise. A diesel cost a bit more up front but usually holds resale value & easily last twice as many miles if not more.
Then of course there is a factor of diesel fuel availability in ones area. But when pulling a camper or boat, a diesel's torque is awesome compared to gasoline. And one's range per tank of fuel is better too.
I am sure that you know this XXX. I am passing on info to those that don't know. Can you add something that I missed?
Diesel prices are spastic. Right now they are pretty close to gasoline but like I said, I've seen it over a dollar per gallon many times.

At least in this area, diesel is ready available at many of our gas stations, so I don't think it would be too hard to find. In the worst case, you can always go to a truck stop if you live out of the city.

What a jackwagon you are.
I happen to work for VW. Let me share some VW current info with you.
In 2011, VW spent more on R&D than any other car company, currently they are the 3rd largest auto manufacturer in the world. They produce vehicles in at least 18 different countries & market cars that you have never heard of because they are not sold in the U.S.
Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat, Skoda & Ducatti motorcycles & 4 lines of commercial vehicles plus they currently have 19.9% of Suzuki stock.
They teamed with Sanyo to make batteries for their Hybrid Jetta. AND they manufacture & sell more diesels than anyone.
Now companies this size buy & sell divisions every day just as P&G, Kroger, Kraft, Renault etc. so some info could be updated at nearly any time. Such as VW used to have 51.1% of Suzuki stock. Now it's 19.9%, tomorrow, who knows?

I had 3 Fords that were the worst vehicles I've ever owned in my life (Lincoln continental, Ranger, Mercury Sable) they were crap after 100k. I owned a Saturn which was a good reliable car but never again will I own a GM because I feel like they owe every American taxpayer a car.

Congress ostensibly created IPAB to do what Congress itself seems unable to do: cut Medicare spending.(Critics therefore call IPAB a “death panel,” but one could just as defensibly call it a “life panel.”) It’s bad enough that Congress would create a super-legislature with the power to set government spending levels. But IPAB is so much more. Whether by design or by accident, IPAB can impose taxes, appropriate funds, and ration care – with virtually no oversight from Congress, the president, the courts, or voters.

It is fairly common knowledge that China cares more about quantity not quality. Let's see what happens here. GM is already having well published problems. They don't need engines of poor machining tolerances to make them go bankrupt again. All we will hear would be a flushing sound if that happens.
Who knows, maybe Toyota would buy them out!

Howard Dean:

One major problem is the so-called Independent Payment Advisory Board. The IPAB is essentially a health-care rationing body. By setting doctor reimbursement rates for Medicare and determining which procedures and drugs will be covered and at what price, the IPAB will be able to stop certain treatments its members do not favor by simply setting rates to levels where no doctor or hospital will perform them.

Gm should been allowed to go under. The few lines that sold like the diesel pickups and the suburban ( and the fancier version from gmc and Cadillac )How would have been bought by someone. They dropped.out if the Medium duty trucks which Izuzu or a similar company would have picked those up. Too big to fail is a bullsh it excuse to bail out democrat voters.

I truly would hate to see 10's of thousands of workers lose their jobs but if the controlling boards of these capitalistic companies can't find good leadership that is what is supposed to happen.
GM couldn't even sell Hummer, Saturn, Oldsmobile, Pontiac & other divisions. They sold Saab but that didn't last long. Does that say something about their leadership? It would seem so.
Detroit almost became a wild west ghost town because of the arrogant & poorly run car companies. The unions didn't help either. They 'milked' the companies for all that they could for their workers but the management is equally responsible for OK'ing such contracts.
BOTH should have functioned as a team for the benefit of all.

You make assumptions that do not do well for you. I work for a VW dealership.
I am old enough for social security so I can not get a better paying job based on my historic job skills. No one seems to want to hire new people over 50 yrs old. To be direct, I am not a 'young stud' any longer & can't perform many of those higher paying job requirements. But that is the way it is.
There is only 1 alternative to aging & I am too young & too fit to think about that.
Put that info in your pipe & smoke it. I would be more civil IF you would be more civil in your long list of post directed at just about every poster on here.

And the overt & covert insults. The attacking denigration etc.
Why can't we all just be more civil?
Why can't we simply agree to disagree?
Why can't more people trust & respect others?
Wish that I had the answer. Not that many on here would care. Which is a sad statement in itself.
