What a sad beginning with such a wonderful outcome. The book sounds very interesting. I would like to see such a touching story made into a movie.
Congratulations to all who gave Mr. Chavanne and thousands of others a place to call home and taught the most important things in life to be successful.
Polishing the floors sounds like more fun than work and I guess that took someone in-touch with Children to make this orphanage such a success.

As an alumnus of the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home, I will definitely be buying a copy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story and the tremendous impact our Beloved "Home" (regardless of state) had on our lives. I remember very well when the "kids" from Xenia used to come visit us in Knightstown and our Home would visit them. It was always something we looked forward to very much. I'm glad our memories and experiences can be shared. Thank you.
