SPRINGBORO -
Petrey said he loved his time at Lakota, which has close to 18,000 students, and gained a great deal of central office experience. The South Lebanon resident said he wanted to come back to Springboro because he loves the city and because he shares the same goals as they board.- DDN website article dated June 1, 2012.
_______
Really, Mr. Petrey??? If you love the city so much that you demanded the highest salary ever paid a superintendent ($130,000/yr for a five year contract) "just to come back to Springboro" - the city that you love - then why do you not live in Springboro, and why do you not have a child enrolled in Springboro schools?
Could it be that your Renewed Vision of Malone's old outdated insanely popular "status quo" failed practices of the past are good for Springboro Students; but NOT good enough for YOUR child?
You should probably ask the same "why do you not have a child enrolled in Springboro schools?" question of Mr. Petroni.

Good Question, but that question was asked over and over again during the 2011 School Board election campaign; and we all should know by this time, that Board Member Mr. Petroni is a taxpaying homeowner in our school district; and the way I see it, that means that Mr. Petroni financially supports our public schools; and also supports respecting parents' rights of school choice.

A better question could be asked of our SEA/ Pro-Union Pro-Levy activists for S-U-R-E:
Why do you care only about the Education of the Child who is enrolled in our classrooms with ONLY a UNION classroom teacher?

Could it be that you ONLY care about the Dollar Sign on that Child sitting in a classroom with a union teacher on "head count day" that goes to the State, which determines how many state dollars our children bring in? Could THIS be the reason that the taxpaying homeowners in this school district that do not have children enrolled in our classrooms with a union teacher are treated with such hostility and disrespect by our Springboro school employees?

Let's not forget that in addition to receiving local school tax dollars based on taxing every homeowner, the schools also get State Funds based on every child enrolled in the union classrooms, as well as our schools receiving funds from the federal government.

And let's not forget about that mantra of "smaller class size for more effective teaching" which school administrators push for reasons to hire....hire....hire..... more union classroom teachers; ensuring employment security for more teachers and increased teachers union dues for the local, state and national teachers union organizations.

Spoken like true TP (Todd Petrey) members of Jeff Stec's program of Community Engagement..... we are Community.... Let us waste $12,000 of taxpayers money to find out "what are the values in the beliefs of Springboro taxpayers?" Don't we already know the answer will be ... Surprise! Surprise!... Our mission of vision is clearer now! We Believe in the praise and worship of the false gods of education! Lift all money restrictions on giving gifts to the education gods and pass the collection plate for Ron's kids after school clubs. What a wonderful day in the Boro, now that all is wealth is in the board room again.

I find it funny that so many people are complaining about Mr. Petrey when the board (that so many on this site claim to love) are the ones that hired him in.
Could it be that the policies and atmosphere of KPR controlling the board resulted in a limited pool of applicants? It is rumored that Mr. Petrey was able to increase his starting salary because he knew that the district had no other applicants to choose from. Funny how making a district so unfriendly has a bad effect on the district. I equate it to companies that don't treat their employees well have a higher turnover rate and reduced productivity.
Oh, and by the way, I am a conservative so any responses claiming I am an Obama minion, liberal, communist would be way off!
What has this district learned about Todd Petrey since his hiring about 3 years ago?
He's anything but politically bias. In order to protect the longevity and security of job numero uno, he's proven time and time again that he'll go out of his way to adhere with the "majority" about virtually any issue.

Any Boro superintendent ought to be able to go to sleep with a clear concience so long as Children's interests and necessities are being provided for FIRST, before attempting to promote Jeff Stec's 10-year-vision SEA-sponsored wish-list.

Neither Thanks Nor Applause is due to former Dennis Elementary principal Todd Petrey (and current school superintendent) for handing over leadership of the future direction of Springboro Schools for S-U-R-E/ community organizer, Jeff Stec.
Mr. Stec will do little toward establishing and maintaining an environment of Trust with all stakeholders in the district and community....... but much harm can be expected to result in the program of community engagement of special interest groups launching their hostile War of Words against Springboro families who do not embrace their collective philosophy of forced unionism, with no freedom of choice.
Recently the Springboro Board of Education members voted 4-1 to approve Todd Petrey's proposed Contract to hire Jeff Stec's Facilitator's Program of Community Engagement in search of finding out our school districts' Mission of Vision. Mr. Petrey's $12,000 cost to taxpayers seeks to "hear" from every Springboro stakeholder as to "What are the Values in the Beliefs of Springboro Taxpayers?" Mr. Stec's plan is to form large numbers of Focus groups of like minded citizens, from whom Mr. Stec will draw input, but only Mr. Stec will "interpret" exactly what this input of "beliefs" will contribute to the school district's Mission of Vision.

How insanely hypocritical is it that at last board meeting, Todd Petrey presents proposed changes to the board policy on public participation, cutting back on time allowed for citizens to speak "their beliefs" during pre-arranged participation; and requiring all citizens to sign in when they arrive in the board room, and to state their concerns, before being recognized to speak in public board meetings.

Parents Alert - Get Involved in Your Child's Classroom Curriculum Decisions Made by Springboro School District Leaders

In June 2010, the State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards ( http://www.corestandards.org ) in English language arts and mathematics, the results of a multi-state effort. The board also adopted more rigorous versions of Ohio's academic content standards in science and social studies. All four set of standards will underpin teaching in Ohio classrooms by 2014-2015, but schools are encouraged to begin using the standards now to prepare students for corresponding assessments that begin in 2014-2015.

Last Modified:2/25/2014

Pursuant to ORC 3301.079(B)(3) and 3313.60, it is the responsibility of Ohio's local boards of education to vet and approve curriculum and educational materials for use in the public schools within their district. The use of any materials posted or linked to on the Ohio Department of Education website, including materials within the Common Core State Standards or Appendices or any state model curricula or other educational resource material, is entirely up to the discretion of each local board of education.

Anti-school politicians, such as Kelly Kohls, are being schooled tonight!!! Yes! Will she finally learn that her days in elected office are over? No, probably not, as is often the case with those with delusions of grandeur. Way to go Warren County!

Warren County Ohio is fortunate to have as citizens such large numbers of strong-principled Conservative Women, of whom Kelly Kohls is ONE! Congratulations are in order for a job well done in raising awareness of the diversity of beliefs in political leadership that exist among our good citizens! Thanks, Kelly! "Anti-school politicians" is the OEA label of false identity, stamped on All Children First Budgeting School Board Elected Officials who Support Parents Rights of School Choice; And oppose the OSBA indoctrination of school board elected officials, because school board associations are sabotaging Education Reform.

This OEA War of Words in defense of Re-instating Union First Status Quo is "Moving Ahead" in the self interest of financial gain and employment security, ensuring big increases in Union First dues forced upon our quality classroom teachers. Why should any classroom teacher be forced to pay big money to the OEA/SEA/NEA just for the privilege of gaining employment as professional educator in our local school district?

The best interests of unions and the best interests of students don't always align, and when they don't, the choice should be obvious -- put Kids first!

Two years ago, Jim Rigano and David Petroni won school board election on their Winning Agenda of doing just that -- put Kids first! And since they took office in January 2012 with the Oath of upholding and protecting the Constitution of the United States of American, doing what's right for our school children and community, these two Board of Education elected officials have stood firm on these strong Principles (even when these strong Principles are not popular with our 2013 Board of Education elected majority members.)

So that would mean those that give to the poor and less fortunate would recieve a richer life. Sounds like someone needs to re-think their stance on welfare and taxes...

Did you know that the taxes the IRS would collect on churches would MORE than pay for the ENTIRE food stamp program?

Looks also like someone will have more time to donate to other duties, maybe they could contact Ms. Jones since her time will be taken up serving in the government.

Who, pray tell, did win in these races?

Are you saying by implication that Ms. Bindeman is a Democrat weasel who won her unopposed race with just 24 votes?

How about Ms. Greenburg is she also a Democrat weasel who won her unopposed race with just 11 votes?

Ms. Gregg a Democrat weasel who won her unopposed race with a mere 9 votes?

How about Joe Kirby, he received 12,000 plus votes in his unopposed race, is he also a Republican weasel?

All of the above ran unopposed.

Mr. Petroni in defeat and aside from a continual smearing of his name for two years still outpolled Ms Bindeman, Ms Greenburg, and Ms Gregg in their combined total votes cast.

Your disparaging and inane comments are once again revealed to be the product of ill conceived hatred and the apparent lacking of a logical mind.

Good luck with that combination in the future.
