It's what you get on this partisan rant site. I tried the same thing just asking questions. I guess if you not one of the 10 people who frequent here then you're an outcast. Speaking of cast, cast a vote for..........WHOEVER YOU WANT. YOU'RE AND ADULT AND CAN MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND FAR BE IT FROM ME TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WITH YOUR VOTE !!!!!(Unless of course I'm so scared that who I want to win won't, then vote how I tell you because I don't believe my candidates can win on their own merits)
I am still hopeful someone can inform me where Bitner and Vaughn stand on the Liberty Institute and controversial subject issues. Have they made their positions on these two issues public? I wasn't able to attend their meeting and since they didn't attend the one debate nor participate in the League of Women Voter's program, and don't have a website explaining their positions, I have no idea what their platform is in regards to these two important issues. I won't considering voting for someone who I don't know what they stand for. Please inform me if you know. Note: the only opinion or stand I am taking here is saying that I won't consider voting for anyone I don't know. FYI - I have not decided yet who I am voting for. Thanks.

And that's a good thing since we only have TWO

So ask yourself…is this what you want in a candidate too? Is this what you want to go back to? The same Desperate Housewives of Springboro that like to throw up roadblocks to our kids and community, to be held ransom for things like bussing? They only can see negatives no matter how positive the results really are. They don’t want MSA to win for their kids, they want them to win because they are tired of being wrong all the time and losing at the polls. They simply want to win this time so they can make themselves feel better about themselves.
What they never worry about are the ALL the positives this current BOE has accomplished for the district, the community and most importantly for the Children First.
What they won’t tell you is they can’t tell you why they are supporting the MSA ticket. They can’t give you a positive reason to vote FOR MSA or even tell you truthfully why they are running. They simply talk in circles and get back to demonizing anyone that supports a different view of there own.
They won’t tell you the real reason they are supporting MSA is:
To “take back THEIR board”
To force Superintendent Petry out, and replace with a more Baker like super. The same type of super that dragged 5 community members to Columbus because they put vote no signs in their yards. He lost and wasted district resources in this petty ploy.
Rehire Troy Holtrey.
Quickly get a big new money levy on the ballot.
Does this look like the old status quo to you?
If you want to go back to negatives, if you want to go back to petty and petulant chicken little cries every couple of months then cast your ballot for those candidates these people support…the same candidates that won’t give you a straight answer of what they are running towards.
ME? I’m voting for candidates that are running FOR something, that have kids in the system (Remember, we were told this was a reason to vote FOR the losing candidates last time out), that will stand with the children, theirs and ours, will stand with the community, will continue the good work the current BOE has gotten done, that support the new contracts our teachers have earned….I’m casting my ballots for positive reasons, not for the negatives.
Join me and help ELECT Vaughn, Bitner, & Anderson this November 5th.
And 95% of the posts here don't come from the "same 10 people"? I find it interesting that on this board they were so quick to point out that "only" 73 people attended the debate at the school but they fail to mention that less than 15 attended the B/V meet and greet. M/S/A may have a landslide on their hands.

I'll give you a positive reason to vote for M/S/A. They don't have some right-wing agenda. They want to move away from the way the current board conducts business. The current BOE is so into micro-management and have overstepped their bounds on NUMEROUS occations. Keep the current majority BOE in control and we'll be needing new tax dollars for lawyer fees.

Remeber 15 years ago when no one could name a board member? When they did what they were supposed to do and kept their personal beliefs out of the public schools?

Most importantly M/S/A are the only candidates to show up at a debate that has been held every election cycle moderated by the mayor as voted for by the people of this city. Even Rigano and Petroni showed up to the debate last election. B/V stated they didn't want to be there because of the SEA? How are they going to work with the SEA?

Unions are eveywhere, get used to it. From the car you drive to the TV shows and movies you watch to the electricity (that allows you to be on this forum) in your house even YOU support unions.

This is not only petty but it is also a duplicitous claim made by the MSA campaign because during a recent question and answer forum, Mr. Malone stated that Springboro is one of the few schools where everyone in the community knows the names of all the Springboro school board members and he wants to be more like other communities where nobody knows the names of the school board members. So I ask you MSA, which is it? Does everybody know the names of the current board members or did you think that the community members were going to think that Bitner and Vaughn are current board memmbers? Looks like your campaign is talking out of both sides of it's mouth again.
LOL! I have no doubt Malone was being perfectly sincere, unfortunately! The philosophy Malone is preaching about falls directly in-line with that of the Ohio School Board Association (OSBA), which doubles as a state lobbying arm for the agendas of the NEA, OEA and of course locally the SEA. What is the underlying OSBA philosophy? Once they're elected into office, individual board members must immediately dispose of any plans they may have had to bring "reform" to the school district.

Underlying, unspoken, unsaid OSBA philosophy has everything to do with a gradual systematic intimidation of each and every newly-elected board member. Within the OSBA doctrine is a teaching that board members should hold their thoughts and ideas secondary to the wishes, thoughts and ideas of teachers and administrators as well as the unions they belong to. The OSBA is all for purging of many "outside" influences so that any such external factors won't ever interfere with their union contituents' job descriptions which essentially is all about finding creative ways and convenient methods of wasteing and pilfering the public tax dollar!

The aforementioned is but only one of the reasons why our district's board president Kelly Kohls decided she would commit herself to representing PARENTS and STUDENTS when she decided to found Ohio School Board Leadership Council (OSBLC), the common-sense alternative to the extremely corrupted OSBA.

If he were to recant, Malone would probably say he meant he'd like to see a school board where nobody knows the names of the school board members, because of NEGATIVE PUBLICITY this district has recieved. Guess what, Ron! There wouldn't have been a whole lot of reason for folks like Kohls Rigano Petroni & Wiedeman to raise holy hell if this district was LEGIT to begin with. Oops!...Sorry about our childrens' inherently screwed up OAA OGT test scoring. Oops!.... Sorry about the deception and deceit during the Booster scandal near the end of Malone's tenure.

Malone and Stuckey are former educators with strong ties to the NEA. So, does anyone here need another reason to NOT vote for Malone & Stuckey?

This is a pivotal school board election because it will set the direction – either a return to the past with a union controlled school board, or continuing in a fiscally responsible manner ensuring that meeting kids’ educational needs are the first priority. The school board exists to represent the interests of parents and the public providing a check and balance to assure the school system meets the needs of the community.
Parent and community representation are critical. David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are both parents of children enrolled in Springboro Schools and have committed to making education their top priority, and they are already on board as Team Members with the current board’s support of the “Children First” philosophy.
Two of David’s and Kolton’s opponents – Ron Malone, former high school principal and David Stuckey a former teacher – retired this last year. Electing these two and their partner Charles Anderson would create a school board where none of the 5 members is parent with children enrolled in school. It would be monolithic board of 5 old men. The time has now come to
elect a couple of men with young kids to the board. The school district already has 400 employees with Education background and experience.
Unions are doing to public education what they have done to GM and Crysler. Quality of education is declining as the unions force more money into compensation and away from improving the product – highly educated children. The result is persistent requests for additional taxes as the school system’s resources are drained.
Our board has been able to strike a balance that is sustainable, but negotiations will begin again in March 2015. The teacher’s union supports the Malone, Stuckey, Anderson ticket and hopes to get two very friendly allies on the school board. It is important to have Bitner and Vaughn on the board as advocates for parents and children during the next round of negotiations. A union controlled board will place priority on meeting the desires of its members.
I hope you are as tired of the controversy surrounding the school board as I am. The controversy has been exaggerated by MSA’s supporters to gain advantage and influence this election against the incumbent board members. The best way to move beyond the controversy is to not perpetuate it by electing one side then the next repeatedly. Bitner and Vaughn are independent thinkers without allegiance to any faction. Let’s end the controversy by electing them.
VOTE FOR BITNER/VAUGHN!
IT JUST TAKES TWO; BUT ANDERSON/VAUGHN ARE THE ONLY TWO THAT COULD PUSH MALONE INTO THIRD AND
PUSH DAVID BITNER INTO FOURTH!

Is rumor true that Scary Sarah (aka old man Malone's concubine enslaved to oppressive unionism indoctrination) is running scared all over town brewing up strategy for collective voting for only one school board candidate, Ron Malone, because the liberal union forces already know that our TWO conservative school board candidates have the WILL and the SKILL to easily take the FIRST and SECOND open seats with the most votes on November 5, 2013;
Is it true that Scary Sarah is now abandoning Stuckey and Anderson, pushing them down to Four and Fifth in order to squeeze into third place... the insanely popular-with-the union-has-been-A-SHS principal, Ron Malone?

If you think that an Anderson/Kolton/Malone
ticket is too scary to risk splitting the conservative

Excuse Me... but there is no current BOE majority.

Don't you know that it's all politics?
The SEA has modeled "politics of personal destruction" for so long in this school district, that it appears everyone now is just
accepting status quo and jumping on the Malone bandwagon to
"vote for revenge." Inquiring minds all over town are asking what's up with that?

It is agreed that neither one of the current BOE members,
Springboro Moms Kelly Kohls/Wendy Kuhl, would agreed to step up and take the OEA war of words tongue lashings "four more years"
... and that just proves to our community-wide taxpayers just how mean and nasty and hostile and aggressive and NON-PROFESSIONAL our
SEA professional educators are in there local war of wars against Springboro taxpayers.

....looking ahead, what difference does it make whether the conservatives or the liberals win the majority of open seats up for grabs in the board room? Just two years ago, Springboro families and taxpayer homeowners volunteered their valuable time and resources to elect for the first time ever our first
Conservative BOE majority?

And with just two board members (Scott Anderson/Don Miller) opposing our children first agenda, look at the detriment to our children's future that Anderson and Miller, teaming up with
SEA president Scott Maney and SHS principal Ron Malone, caused with their never ending politics of personal destruction of all good things in our schools and community that are not of
unionism indoctrination?

So why not lighten up... look beyond the darkness of this
vote for revenge school board campaign, and step into the sunshine on November 5th and VOTE YOUR BELIEFS!

Aren't these the same people who held and moderated the forum that you keep whining about Bitner and Vaughn not attending? Why invite candidates to a forum when the people moderating and holding the forum are already in support of the opposing 3 candidates? Could it be you wanted a biased forum? EDUCATE SPRINGBORO ENDORSES ANDERSON

http://educatespringboro.org/

An excerpt from "In the Direction of Unity", released 10/24/13

...Educate Springboro supports a slate of three candidates, Charles Anderson, David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn for Springboro Board of Education. David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn bring their perspective as parents, taxpayers and concerned citizens to provide more balance in board perspectives. We are also confident that with the addition of the business acumen Charles Anderson has accumulated in his many years of service to the community, our district can continue to be sustainable. Keeping our students as the first priority, supporting our teachers, and being the voice of the community in public education is our goal. The addition of Anderson, Bitner, and Vaughn aid us all in accomplishing that goal.

Educate Springboro is also FOR the renewal. Issue 14 is a reduced renewal levy. In good faith, we’ve balanced the budget and met our obligations. When it became clear that the district could meet its needs with less money, the board voted to request lower millage in the renewal levy in November. Not only have we proven that we can live within our means, but now every stakeholder in this district—our students and families, our staff and teachers, and the taxpayers--will benefit.

Please join Educate Springboro in voting

FOR DAVID BITNER for School Board, and

FOR KOLTON VAUGHN for School Board, and

FOR CHARLES ANDERSON for School Board, and

FOR ISSUE 14 for our school district.

Right, that's why they wrote with sharpie's on their signs. To look more "legit". They did not show to a hearing they were strongly encouraged to attend. The panel found in favor (3-0) of the charges brought forth. So ask the elections commission your question. They are the ones who are proceeding with a hearing the day before the election. If what B/V did was not against the code, then why the unanimous ruling?
