Wow, if there were only other candidates that would show up at the debate, maybe they could ask him.
So much for that idea....
To debate Malone is a zero sum game. Think of Malone as an elephant. This particular elephant has long been a dominant figurehead of the savannah. During a debate, this elephant may choose to tell the truth, he may choose to lie or deceive, or he could be absolutely clueless. At the end of the day, this elephant can do almost nothing to harm his reputation in the public's eye because this elephant remains the insanely popular king of the Springboro high school savannah.

On the other hand, during the next 4 weeks Malone has something to lose lots of sleep over because elephants of the African savannah are absolutely terrified of ANT HILLS.

I've noticed that when you talk about these numbers you fail to mention what other schools in the area look like. Are we the only ones who have this "problem"?
Also it occurs to me that from 2008 - 2013 would cover the time the current school board was in "power". Don't they have anything to do with this "failure" or are their hands clean? After all these do have to do with Ohio "core" and there are those on the board that reject the "core".
If the curriculum is the principal's responsibility then you should have been opposed to the school board trying to influence the curriculum. If the BOE has oversight of the curriculum then they should be held responsible for your said "failure". It's either one way or the other.
As far as you debating Malone, you had your chance but didn't run for BOE. It's always easier being a fan or a cheerleader than a player. Those that need to be at the debate are missing MULTIPLE opportunities to give the public an idea of the choices they have.
We can do little to influence other school districts except by setting the example. We have only our own district where we can successfully impact its performance and the actual amount of true learning that takes place in our classrooms.

Wasting your time chasing others to the bottom is an exercise in futility.

The latest report from the High Schools That Works covered the school year 2011 - 2012, the current school board took over in January of 2011 and immediately began pushing to add more Advanced Placement courses. Mr. Malone responded by requesting one A/P Statistics class, a current events class, and a beginning guitar class. The board to its credit approved the A/P class, denied the guitar class, and to its discredit approved the current events class.

The reports from 2007 and 2010 note the same problems in each year as we see in 2012. Mr. Malone made the conscious decision to ignore to the detriment of the children the recommendations his professional peers were making. Paramount of them was increasing the strength of the curriculum and promoting more A/P classes.

Mr. Malone enjoyed the authority and influence conferred upon in him in both the academic community and the community at large as principal of the high school. How he chose to weld that authority and influence is a demonstration of where his priorities truly lie. Sadly it seems it is not with our children's long term futures.

As a private citizen I would still enjoy the opportunity to debate the point of academic achievement of our school district and Mr. Malone's record on such matters.

Perhaps the public would like to know more about why Mr Malone knowingly promotes PROFICIENT as a standard that equates to FAILURE.

It is hard to lie when the person you are attempting to BS has a grounding in the subject. It is also hard to lie when the facts are printed by the state on its web pages for everyone to view.

It is easy to lie to willing participants in the lie, but not everyone in this community fits that bill.

Elect
David Bitner
and
Kolton Vaughn
Springboro BOE
Vote Tues. November 5th
http://supportborostudents.com/
The more we know....

Spread the Good News!

Now we all know that David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are the
two school board candidates, who are fully vested in a Vison of Reform for future education, are Parents Representing Parents, putting our STUDENTS FIRST, and Staying the Course of RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING!

Why would anyone who cares about the future financial stability of our school children's education vote to re-instate control of status quo leadership that had lost its balance?

If there was any balance at all in the past, it was an eye for
an eye. As this community said "no" to five new money levies, district leaders failed to find levy alternatives. The status quo threatened the community with cuts. Thankfully, many of those leaders have left, but some now would like toreturn to sit on our school board.
NO DEBATE ABOUT IT....

This year's record is easy to defend because it consistently demonstrates investing in Children First. From replacing the districts aging computers, buses, to implementing new curriculum and raising expectations with new standards, testing --
we have progressed! Why would we give control back to those who slowed this district's progress? Those who inflated budget forecasts? Those who ignored the capital needs of the District?
Most importantly, why would we elect the same people who neglected to put Children First in our schools?

Children First Budgeting Works in the best financial/academic interest of our Students First, our quality classroom teachers
and all school employees, providing a quality education while keeping our schools both safe and affordable. Why would anyone vote against Children First?

Just Remember in November that ONLY union school board members would ever consider "adopting a standard that is known to be detrimental to children..." and Mr. Malone has already told voters that he is running for election to gain control of the board's successful children's first budget and re-instate union first business as usual. Now what could be more detrimental to our school children and community than a union controlled school board?
Springboro Voters can't just invest our future in the Malone/Stuckey/Anderson status quo.
Just Say No!

We have to invest in a Vision of Reform for our students' 21st Century Education.

Stay the Course in 2013....
VOTE FOR DAVID BITNER AND KOLTON VAUGHN!

After seeing signs from both candidates today, I checked out both websites and was surprised at the stark contrast between the two tickets. You really can't find out much about MSA from their website. On the other hand, when I looked at the Bitner/Vaughn website, I was pleased to see so much more information about their views. One site feels like a big downer and the other site is bright and exciting. One group of candidates appear to have no new ideas, boring and exhausted. The other group is vibrant, excited and full of motivation to do the best for the students and the community. I have to agree with the majority on here. I will be casting a vote for BITNER and VAUGHN on November 5. :-)

Anyone else been noticing the sets of small American flags perched at the top of each Dale Lamb yard sign?
Lamb's campaign needs to be hearing from concerned citizens in this community about their campaign's FLAGRANT MISUSE of our nation's flag for the purpose of personal political gain.

What other communites think of The Springboro BOE.
Maybe not so much as you believe. The truth will triumph and reveal the depths at which a union program will go to espouse half truths, innuendo, smear, and lies.

They may have overplayed their card this time and awaken a sleeping bear.

Here is the report on Channel 2 and the response from Mr. Petrey.

Look in your mailbox in the next day or so for actual documentable facts on the state of our district.

Compare the past to the future and what has been accomplished in the past 1.5 years.

I think you will like the direction in which we are headed.

You are more concerned about who wrote something coming from the school other than what it will say. It's much easier that way to be dismissive of the facts contained within isn't it? It's a lot easier to make up your mind ahead of time isn't it?

You are so transparent.

The truth has a funny way of leaking out to the general public.

Thomas Jefferson said in 1782.(Notes on the State of Virginia)

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories. And to render them safe, their minds must be improved to a certain degree."

Truth and knowledge have a tendency to keep government square, it was true 231 years ago and it is true today.

Vote for the "sunshine", not the darkness.

Vote for those who believe in transparency, not the ones who like to file bad news away in the dark recesses of their high school file cabinets.

It's interesting that you bring up "file cabinets" and "dark recesses". We all know there's a former Springboro booster right now who's in a "dark recess" of his life. Court transcripts describe habits of the former Boro boosters organization as having next to no cross-accountability. Almost no one around here lives in a world of illusion the total amount of missing Booster money was anywhere close to 100% accounted for in the amount Harves was court-ordered to reimburse.

Near the bottom of lots of black yard signs around town, the following words can be easily viewed...
"PAID FOR BY FRIENDS OF MALONE STUCKEY AND ANDERSON"

Oh, the irony...

We now have less than one month to get out our message that November 5, 2013, is a turning point in the future success of our students' quality classroom education.
We can't just invest in the status quo of re-instating Ron Malone's business as usual union first inept leadership.
We MUST invest our votes and our money in a
VISION OF REFORM!
The Choice Is Simple!

Only our two non-union school board candidates,
DAVID BITNER and KOLTON VAUGHN
are ON BOARD with our Current board's
VISION OF REFORM!

Spread the Good News!
David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are the school board candidates who MUST be our next two elected board representatives! Our future depends upon electing PARENTS REPRESENTING PARENTS!

VOTE FOR DAVID BITNER and KOLTON VAUGHN
on November 5, 2013!
STUDENTS FIRST! RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING!

Our future is going to be brighter than status quo tunnel vision of past failed practices of union controlled Board of Education elected officials;

AND WE ARE ON OUR WAY... NO TURNING BACK!

Just when you think LAMB and WADE could not stoop any lower, they pardon the chief for a criminal act and place American flags on their campaign signs. How shameful are these people

Lamb is anything but an American. He is Anthony Weiner all over again. No one likes him and he needs to leave the community in shame. How dare you deface the American flag. How dare you even call yourself an American.

Actually, I believe the moderator is the only person who is able to ask questions during a debate. I believe we all know what kind of questions the good old boys will be asked. Union supported people sitting down to have a "debate" with other union supported people, sounds like everything will be on the up and up, LOL!!!
