What credentials do you have to be on this blog pushing others to interrogate other citizens (who voluntarily chose this class --no summer reading requirement) as to what the instructor is thinking or teaching? Are you one of the "which one of you is lying" group of Boro Alumni?
Shouldn't we be asking Principal Ron why he led our high school students to violate student policy/bylaws in their March 2012 rebellion against school board authority? Shouldn't all hired school employees act as professional educators (both in and out of school) and be a perfect role model of good citizenship for ALL students and community members?

In the fair and balanced way of presenting "both sides"
perhaps the board should exercise their rights as elected officials in the board room by bringing recommendations in the best interests of educating all students to their highest potential of academic success; and follow their own agenda, instead of stirring up conflict over controversial issues,
and then backing down when the collective political opposition gets on step ahead in the big union business of bullying.
How again is that good for children to teach them that in Springboro schools whatever agenda is insanely popular always WINS?
I thought the question was how is dumbing down the curriculum good for any kid? I would like to the know the answer to that questions as well.

The strengthening of our curriculum will begin when we throw away Mr. Malone's and the union's proud assertions that PROFICIENT is good enough for our children.
Mr. Petroni addressed that subject at the August 8th board meeting when he asked that we establish a higher level of accomplishment in Springboro rather than celebrating the artificially low level the state demands today.
I attended those board meetings earlier in the year when each school principal would present the state of affairs in their school. Invariably the talk moved towards how good we were doing in meeting the state standards and how many children we had at the PROFICIENT level. Each time this was mentioned the place erupted in cheers and clapping from the teachers and union supporters present.
I have a difficult time believing that each of these teachers and administrators did not know what it took me about 15 minutes to figure out, PROFICIENT equals FAILURE.

For Sure Parents should address the question to Boro Alumni:

Why do you "feel" that high school students cannot thrive without former principal Ron Malone continuing his past 40 years of expertise in education as the school board candidate running to gain control of the Board of Education?

Why do Boro Alumni "feel" they have an obligation to keep our students' 21st century education needs left behind by re-instating Malone's status quo business as usual leadership?

Do the Boro Alumni really believe that our Springboro students, who are preparing for a challenging and "unknown" future career,
can thrive in their classroom education under the tunnel vision leadership of a has been principal, has been teacher/coach, and has been a board member, whose only desire is to gain control of our winning agenda of our successful children's first budget?...... And for no Value to our kids' education; but simply because they believe that there needs to be a re-emphasis on the value of the educator?

Taxpaying homeowners and school district voters would like to know the answer to the question: Why is the school board policy committee not working with our highly paid curriculum director to stop Mr. Malone's dumbing down the curriculum; Why is the school board policy committee wasting their time trying to find legal ways to include in curriculum the acknowledgement that the original intent of the founding fathers framing our great U.S. Constitution was based on Christian beliefs? I would like to know the answer to the question: Why has this fake "constitutional crisis" taken center stage in our school/community-wide conflict; and there is no attention given in the school board meetings to the question of Mr. Malone dumbing down curriculum for the past thirteen years.
Why have we heard praise and worship of Mr. Malone's expertise just recently in our public school board meetings as an educator so valuable to Springboro Schools that it would take THREE less experienced principals to replace him?
Why is so unusual now that we have THREE school board candidates, including on insanely popular has been a high school principal, running to gain control of our BOE elected rerpesentatives Children's First Budget?

This is indeed true of Dr. Malone's behavior; and there's so much more that truly proves Dr. Malone of being "unfit to sit" in representation of the people as an elected official of the BOE.
How sad for Ron and Sherri that they did not choose to grow older "gracefully" in celebration of Ron's 40 years of PAST expertise in education. There are so many volunteer opportunities for which "has been a principal Ron" could contribute while enjoying a high level of personal satisfation in doing "good"
for others.
But why this evil indoctrination of our students and young people in Malone's egotistical "vote for revenge" against Springboro taxpayers, who have so generously INVESTED our hard earned money into his double dipping pockets all these years?
How sad that Malone allows himself to be manipulated by Maney in this fight of the Springboro Education Association to greedily grab control of the money of this November school renewal levy
for our children's budget!
Mr. Maney is playing the fool -- just as the old fox who crossed the bridge over the river to steal the chicken; then on the way back saw his reflection in the water -- and thinking that he would take that fox's chicken, snapped at his own reflection in the water and ... lost it all!
Springboro parents and taxpaying homeowners learned the truth in March 2012, that Ron Malone is just a wimpy little puppet with a great big mouth bullying all around town, whatever the current agenda of Scott Maney's politics of personal destruction and distortion in the SEA's attempts to attack character and discredit reform-minded board members who successfully challenged, and WON
the war of status quo business as usual!
There's No Doubt among common sense responsible spenders that our November School Renewal Levy will overwhelmingly pass and Not a Chance that the the three union school board candidates will overwhelmingly win.
Stay Focused on our winning agenda's strengths; don't allow the insanely popular weaknesses of the union school board candidates to dominate our thoughts!

Little progress can be made merely by attempting to repress what is evil; our great hope lies in developing what is good.

Actually, None of these "ideas" were brought up by the current board; and our school district is not in the direction of any of the few reasons that you say is reason we should change directions. Do you have interest in knowing the Real Direction in which our successful school district is going?
Please visit the website http://educatespringboro.org to read the rest of this article and lots more exciting news happening in our schools and community....in the direction of sustainability!

The Springboro school district stands in an almost unheard of position today. Even after plans to invest millions in technology, curriculum, buildings and buses, and even after providing every employee with raises, we are financially prepared to give something back to the taxpayer – to give back to our community by reducing their tax burden. The renewal levy on the ballot in November will be set at a lower millage rate to reduce taxes generated by that levy by nearly 15 percent.
With every step, we are proving that this district with its record of excellence is sustainable with an even lower tax burden. This is almost unheard of in school or local government today.

In the direction of opportunity ...
by David Petroni “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity;an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”--Winston Churchill When we combine common sense spending with the strong performance of our schools, we can offer opportunities for everyone--our students, teachers, families and our community. The 2013 campaign for school board has begun, and some candidates are calling for a nostalgic turn back to “the way it was.” The status quo says they want to go in a different direction. Here is a reminder of our past:• Instead of facing our challenges, they seemingly would retreat back in time.• Instead of looking for opportunities to improve and innovate, they chose the way they always operated – raise fees, cut busing, reduce support staff, and increase class size to leverage parents.• Instead of reallocating resources in response to a changing financial environment, they chose not to buy books, technology, buses, or to make needed capital improvements. This summer a worker fell 20 feet (blessedly survived with only a broken elbow) while fixing the Clearcreek Elementary roof because the roof decking had been neglected for so long. If regular maintenance is performed, how much less might this repair have cost?We see the status quo woefully ill equipped to meet the challenges that our school district faces.Visit our websitehttp://educatespringbor o.org
Stay Alert Voters! With the excitement of the new school year and winning foot ball games, voters must stay focused on our Children's First Budget winning agenda; and educating Springboro to keep moving in the direction of doing what's right for our children's 21st century education.

Not in denial of recent history (which to me is extremely silly of the political opposition to Springboro parent Kelly Kohls, to think their recent bullying behavior for S-U-R-E is "recent history" (lol again and again!)
The board has never tried to spread lies and conspiracies on school property (although for S-U-R-E the union activists use school property and even our children's classrooms to spread lies and conspiracy theories about our reform minded BOE elected officials).
As a Totally Engaged American,(some of you unionists may prefer calling some of your fellow Americans Tea party wackos...lol...)who thinks independently AND never collectively, I am fully informed of all local government agendas that involve taxing my family home, including the educational agenda of our local government schools; that's how I always know "which one is lying" for S-U-R-E. And YOU, motorvoter, are the PATHETIC lying one--still clinging to your anger and resentment over the amazing achievements of our current board's children's first budget success; AND still trying to re-instate status quo union first bet interest BOE majority members! Speaking of which, have you ever come up with an argument that supports Mr. Malone's candidacy for the school board?

Looking at Mr. Malone's many accomplishments:

Allows over hundreds of thousands of dollars to be stolen from his Booster Club at the high school during his tenure.

Denies the same and fights against accountability or transparency in this area.

Dumbs down the curriculum at the high school in spite of there being NO RESEARCH OR DATA to support that concept according to his professional education peers at the Warren County Educational Services Center.

Promotes PROFICIENT as the gold standards in our schools despite knowing full well that PROFICIENT equals FAILURE.

Etc, etc, etc.....

Of course there is No, not one, who does not graciously offer a note of Thanks for his 13 years of service as high school principal! Hasn't there be numerous events staged and pre-arranged since March 2012 to "laud and applaud" the insanely popular Dr. Malone? Of course we have celebrated outrageously because everybody loves a lover! And hasn't the good Dr. Malone loved almost all of us right back?
On a higher note, the Grand Opening of a New Symphony is making it's debut in our Springboro schools as our school superintendent and school staff have "thrown out the red carpet" to warmly Welcome our kids back to the NEW SCHOOL YEAR of 2013-14! How exciting to walk the familiar halls and see signs of New Adventures in Learning; new staff, new supplies, newly painted walls and polished floors! And the beginnning of the new day starts with the excitement of our kids getting on those NEW school buses and safely heading off to school! Why would any school board candidate mount a campaign to change this direction of opportunity in which our children's future education is successfuly heading?
QUESTION: Mr. Malone, do YOU remember the March 2012 re-instate Ron Malone protest rally that you promoted in our schools, churches and neighborhoods, against the authority of elected board members Kelly Kohls, Jim Rigano, and David Petroni? Do you remember sitting in the SHS auditorium, smiling, applauding, and joining in approval with other parents and teachers, as these students stepped up to question our elected officials as to which one of them was lying? Did you know that these students are posting on this blog, reminding Springboro taxpayers that they are now all grown up and ready to vote revenge for Principal Ron in November?
