Mr. Malone, during the past thirteen years of your employment as SHS principal, isn't it true that you have focused more on being a "PAL" than on the strong principles of being a "Professional Educator?"

"Running around town"! How quickly you forget Kelly Kohls call out to the Warren County Tea Party for their attendance at a school board meeting. There were many there who were NOT even from our community & who were not eligible to vote in Springboro. You reap what you sow!
Did You Know that a fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject?

The time has now come to forget all the personal, religious, and political persecution "empowerment" of the Springboro Education Association's fanatical attacks on (Springboro parent and BOE elected official) Kelly Kohls, that have occurred in front of the TV cameras during pre-arranged bully attacks of the SEA played out before the community during our public school board business meetings?

For SURE, some protest that Mrs. Kohls "brought it on herself" but exactly what does that mean to the voters who educated themselves to her reasons for running for election in 2009; and then went to the polls to cast the highest number of votes in her favor?
Some would protest that the hostile takeover of the union activists "brought it on the reform-minded Mrs. Kohls"...and
with such mean-spirited, non-professional bullying, that even their SEA disguise of being "professional educators" was clearly seen through.

Mrs. Kohls said from the beginning of her service to our schools and community that her end game was not "just to get re-elected" but that she would ask the tough questions in the best interest of our children's education, that had never been addressed by previous board members. And that's just the kind of leader that is always a winner, no matter which avenue of public service to others is pursued. Now, does Mrs. Kohls have enemies? Yes, an entire Union army of hostility attacking her character and good service with an on-going destructive war of words and an unlimited dollar VALUE in campaign funding! Now you might think that this is a bad thing for Mrs. Kohls; but to those of us who believed in Kelly's principles of leadership from the beginning (and still do believe) this is a good thing. And Why is that? Simply put, it means that Kelly Kohls has stood up for something good in her service as board representative! Our schools and community have been made stronger, because Kelly was strong enough to stand for real Principles of good leadership.

I do know about the inordinate number of union people from other districts who showed up to watch the show when negotiations were ongoing. When I asked them why they wanted to waste their time here with this, they replied " to show support."
Warm bodies are warm bodies I suppose.
Before one particular board meeting during negotiations I remember overhearing an outsider tell a person sitting near him... "whether or not I come back (to Boro BOE meetings) depends on what type of production we're able to get tonight."

Maybe it's time to consider designating a seating section specifically for non-district attendees.

"If you believe that the past year has been a great one for our schools, a year that saw the reputation of our schools strengthen, a year that brightened the future of our children, a year that made you proud to say you are from Springboro, than by all means vote to continue on in this direction. If you believe that divisive politics, guns in classrooms, charter schools, creationism, attorney fees, bad media coverage, poor employee relations, and diminishing academic options are great for our children, will increase our property values, and will make our town a place people will increasingly want to call home, vote to continue in this direction."
Ask Mr. Malone who is responsible for that one, or better yet his peers at the Warren County Educational Services Center who audited his program of studies.
Page 10
From the 2012 report by the Warren County Educational Service Center.
Mr. Malone had been reviewed numerous times previously and made aware of his program of studies shortcomings.
Why did Mr. Malone choose not to pursue the direction and recommendations provided for the benefit of the children?
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bxs0_xA64y_HS ...
"SHS still offers general level classes (Algebra 1A and !B, physical science, US HIstory, and World History) Thus, not all students experience a college preparatory curriculum. Documents provided to the TAV Team indicate that contrary to the High Schools That Work (HSTW) philosophy, SHS believes that offering low level courses is in the best interest of students. THIS BELIEF, however, WAS NOT SUBSTANTIATED BY RESEARCH OR DATA."
Dumbing down the curriculum is apparently not in the best interest of the student.
Nothing substantiates this belief in either research or data.
Yet, that was the path Mr. Malone chose for your children.
These are not my conclusions, but the conclusions of professional educators hired by the school district to audit our program of studies before this board ever came to be.
Based on the large number of parents that have acknowledged knowing about the chosen path of Mr. Malone in past years, have you ever questioned WHY these parents remained silent?
The recent survey of kid's choice of principal characteristics most highly favored revealed proof that Mr. Malone was insanely popular because he did not hold teachers accountability for student's academic success. Of what value is that to the professional educator's responsibility to our students?
Yet, Mr. Malone expounds largely on his gaining control of the board so that he can re-emphasis the dollar value of the educator?

The OEA members/union activists are some of the worst people we will ever have to deal with as to radical social behavior; because to the OEA radicals they are at war with the taxpayers.
They have the destruction of America in their minds and they are terrible people because their ideology makes them corrosive. They openly use children to execute their maniacal plans for social progressive changes at the expense of society, and this defines their essence. Wars are won by taking away from the other side the will to continue fighting. The OEA attacks them directly hoping to rob them of their will to stand opposed to the union’s progressive agenda.
There is NO reasoning with the Springobro Education Association members, the SURE group, nor the Neighbors for Springboro Schools. They are angry, hostile, mean-spirited, bitter, and totally without gratitude and appreciation of the simple joys of home, family, faith, and love; and care only for the collective forced investment of other's labor, which the SEA feels their dollar "VALUE" is greater than all.
As we have seen recently when the contract settlement gave the SEA all they said they wanted from taxpayers; still they greedily protested "give us more; we don't want increased pay; we just want it all and we demand the board to PAY it all to the SEA, because Ron Malone says so..."There needs to be a re-emphasis on the VALUE of the educator."

Biggest reason I can see why no one questioned Mr Malone about the study was because the study the public did not know it existed. The results went to Mr. Malone and was not shared with anyone until this board demanded they be made public. Prior to that, from what I understand, these reports lay buried in Mr. Malone's office.

I guess the Warren County Educational Services Center reports conflicted with a carefully crafted narrative Mr Malone was promoting in public.

QUESTION: Mr. Malone, What do you think of the future of education?

ANSWER: Education today seems to be narrowing its focus to emphasize core courses; math, science, language arts. I'm a strong believer in broad-based education; in high school especially. Offering a wide variety of courses and experiences might spark different interests in students that could help them in college and beyond.

TAXPAYER: Mr. Malone would studying the results of that $8000 WC ESC review have helped BROADEN YOUR NARROW FOCUS of education today in the 21st century?
Mr. Malone, excuse me, Sir, you seemed to have nodded off for a moment or two...

Have you had time to browse the School website new resources for students and parents with just a click on the internet? This is just awesome! Be sure to check out these great new programs connecting teachers at school and students and parents learning together at home!

The Pearson curriculum pilot demonstrates Springboro’s larger efforts to build the meaningful use of technology. The district is migrating to Google Apps in Education this year. This is a free, online suite of tools (spreadsheet, word processor, presentations) that gives students a common set of tools that are accessible at all times. This will facilitate collaboration on projects, real-time feedback from teachers, shared information and research that will promote learning anytime and anywhere.
Similarly, parents can access important information online anytime through the curriculum page on the district website www.Springboro.org . The page is being updated to provide families with a single online resource with which to answer common parent questions and concerns on instructional technology, the curriculum pilot as well as teaching and learning throughout the district.
With one click, parents are taken to an easy-to-read virtual bookshelf of resources, including Ohio Department of Education (ODE) data, the district’s ODE report card, gifted services, instructional technology, special education, the third grade reading guarantee, home schooling and English language learners as well as a variety of links for parents to support learning from preschool through twelfth grade. During the school year, the site will include a “Panthers at Work” link to highlight student academic achievements throughout the district. The site goes live online August 1, and it will be under construction as more information and links are added.
