I am aware of why he is not a judge any more and don't care. Mistakes are made. I always thought of him as a good lawyer, but I was wondering if he still has the credibility and respect of the courts?
I am pursuing gaining full custody of my child and am considering retaining him. Does he still win cases? Does he handle custody cases?
My son is in desperate need of a stable home and I believe I have a decent case against his mother. Please help.

It's been my experience that you will do better to get a lawyer from outside Wythe county. Plus, Blankenship made his mistakes and paid for them, but alot of folks in the court system still speak poorly of him. There are some good lawyers in Hillsville that you might consider. I wish you the best of luck getting your little boy.

This court system thinks the world of Keith Blankenship. I really don't understand what has he done so bad. I hate to think where Wytheville would be had it never been graced with such a person. The first time I layed eyes on that fella I thought Jesus walks again. People should really think about poor Keith and his family and send them money or something like that. God knows he is the best lawyer in the world.

I have to agree with Larry. Get a lawyer from outside Wythe Co. Blankenship may be good for small cases, but I certainly wouldn't feel secure about having him handle something as serious as a custody case.

I'm not sure why people think getting a lawyer outside of Wythe County is effective. Local attorneys know local courts and Judges better. Why bring in someone who is unfamiliar with the territory? Doesn't make any sense. If I personally were in a hotly contested custody case I would hire Keith or Robert Kaase.

The best reason I can think of as to why to get a lawyer from out of town would be by example. For instance when the judge drools out something like, "I don't give a damn what the law is this is my courtroom," its at that time when a lawyer from out of town rips the court another ass. Our lawyers have to work with the court because once you stand up to the court system they don't really care that much for you. Our lawyers really concentrate on taking care of the poor people that are forced to follow 77 or 81 through this place. Never ever get one of these lawyers to represent you in one of these courts. In short I don't think that there is a Wytheville Lawyer that is not kin to the other lawyers and there just is no good day to drag one in front of the judge whom has a chapped ass from them kissing it to start with. We just love keith blankenship around this place. I wish more people would send him money or something

want custody of your child go see Bill Cleavland in Roanoke. Handles all kinds of stuff. Don't take any shit from a court and wins. He cost some money but fixes things right then and there for good. Hey he is the lawyer that got the cop off that was caught robbing the bank and threatend to kill the rest of Franklin countys police and their family.

He is the man and judges and lying ass cops cringe at the sight of him in a dirty court system.

I've heard good things about Robin Kegley and Brad Dalton. Mr. Dalton is from Hillsville i think. Does any one have any opinion on these two attorneys regarding a child custody case? Affective? Fees? Your help is greatly appreciated.

That the whole reason why not to get a lawyer from Wytheville. They do know this place but they have to work here and be in these very courts each week. Take a lawyer out of town because when these judges say something like, "I know what the law is but this is my goddamn courtroom," then your out of town lawyer does not tuck his tail. He stands up and fights for you rams their bullshit right back down their troats and takes it to the next level.

15-16 years ago my mother was visiting someone in the hospital. The hospital requested she be there. As the nurse walked her into the room a town officer was talking with the person in the hospital. When my mother was shown into the room the officer told her she was not to be in the room and gave her a big shove backwards. When he did I soved his ass around a few times before long I had shoved a bunch of them and then it got real fucked. I ended up pulling three months and had a jury trial. The jury ended up calling the cops everything but men but felt for my part I had to pull three months at least wich is far better than any of the choices they had to pick from. General District is where I heard the whole thing about this is my court room.

I think a person that wants to win anything has to go out of town and get someone like Bill Cleavland. That way its just over with and if you are in the right to begin with you will win and if you aint then you will still win.

A good example of why an out of town lawyer works better might be the one set in Franklin county the past few months. The police officer that was caught red handed robbing the bank, then planning to kill the rest of the police. Red handed remember w/capital murder for hire or something. Yea he walked. Oh yea I forgot he was also in a shootout at his house. Nothing said. Patted on the back and sent home. Thats the difference between an out of town lawyer and a good o'l boy down the street. They love to sacrifice you like a lamb
