Once again Chapman pushing the problem off on someone else.. Maybe you should try the three strikes game with the kids, on the third strike they get kicked out for good. Let the parents deal with their unruley kid for once. When you got rules set,the teachers and principals should stick to them..

incompetent city council and mayor bad environment to concentrate in school . A bunch of severe problems for graduates who care about their future lives.. Why should they live their adult lives here and have their children having dismal quality of life. All the adults around them have let them down. No changes on horizon unless the young people get totally involved in all of city,s problems they can MAKE A =DIFFERENCE but why should they when there is perceived nobody cares attitudes Their future is glib even outside the city as long as the Obama Pelosi Reed expresstrain is running full speed with danger lurking

1. Make sure the parents that created the problem pay for the court costs NOT the taxpayer.
2. The other problem is in the streets and on the sidewalks away from the school. Teens with their smug attitude walk right in front of cars without care, void of any thought that one day they will meet their match and get mowed over.
3. Clean up the city, watch who is shown on TV and what name appears in the police log 85% of the time and get a clue. GET RID OF THE SCUM!

My daughter attends RHS and i think that is a great idea. Maybe with the courtroom in the school these kids will be able to learn and get the proper education these kids need to become very successful when they graduate. I congratulate the person or group who decided to put a courtroom in the school. Good luck and I hope this project comes through.

No thanks on the kick out. GMHS is getting the runoff from the Reading dropouts. How about the parents, teachers and officials do their jobs and all of this would not be necessary.

they should take all the students out of the school that are actually trying to do good and leave the rest inside...bar up the windows if they are not already done and chain up the doors from the outside and let the animals fight and kill each other till there all dead..then reopen..

Kids that cause a need for a courtroom in are already doomed. They were brought up that way and will be no different than their welfare grabbin' parents. Sterilize them now to help eliminate problems in the future. Pure scum, just like their parents!

Maybe it's time to seperate the schools based on race again. I realize that not all minorities are bad but it's not the white kids causing the problems. Give some kids a chance for a future.

Right, blame it on the others right?! its ignorance like this that won't get the problem solved.
The real problem behind all of this fighting is the gangs and the lack of sense some parents have while raising their kids. I'm Puerto Rican, yeah i've been suspended before but that's normal. and you kno what instead of fighting for your race you should be fighting to make everything more organized. Instead of going to to the teachers and administrators for answers why not go to the problem itself and sort them out. if you would spen a day in this school you'd know what really is going on and Reading is getting a bad rep for the few that are doing this and its makes me madd that we, the good students, have to suffer for it. honestly its not about race dude. and to the Media, you're only out to inform right? unbiased reporting no? then i'd like to see you go to the students who are trying and see what they think of this, its not just everyone going crazy in this school. some of us have been affected by this too. my studies have suffered because of the ignorance of others. and you know what? if the need to make reading high BCP east. then do so. But honestly give credit where its due. Reading high has the potential to be great. and its about time some one stood up for it. instead of point the fingers and jump on badmouthing bandwagon, make a change. word with out actions are empty. stop moaning about things being bad if you don't plan to do anything helpful. I say you go to the students who care and are doing their job. you want the real story behind all the violence. all you have to do is walk right in. Everyone knows what's going on behind the walls of RHS. But no one wants to really step up and say it.

I'm glad to hear from you. Do you think the "courtroom" once a week is because of the gangs? I don't think people in general are saying that all of the kids are bad, just the gangs. I have a child in a different school district, I try not to listen to the media because not all the facts are reported properly. I was looking for the article in WFMZ to mention the gangs, but they didn't. You are the only one who did. Your parents should be proud of you. Everyone makes mistakes, the object is to learn from them. You sound like you really want to learn and go to school for that reason. Are you for or against the courtroom? It's a shame that people blame the whole Puerto Rican race for the actions of few. You show them that they're wrong. I don't know what year you're in, but keep up with your studies the best you can. Did you ever go to your guidance counselor and tell them that your grades are suffering because of the actions of those few? I'm just trying to give you some suggestions. In the end, the only person that matters is you. You're the one who can do whatever you want as far as your future goes. The sky is the limit, but you have to be given that chance to learn. That is your right. Good luck to you- from a parent who doesn't believe that all Puerto Ricans are bad.

Hon, that's the problem. The parents don't deal with their kids. This idea won't work.(kicking them out) The thugs would be running the streets all day while their parents are doing Lord knows what. Also, the state fo PA has laws pertaining to this. Don't you think by having a courtroom system in your school(once/week) will take care of the problem. Your teachers, principal and superintendent aren't equipped to deal with gangs. Aren't they the ones who are causing problems? The problem kids will go right to court and maybe to juvenile detention, that's the way to deal with these "problems."

"Court" in the schools will deal with minor offenses and won't have the power to send kids to juvenile detention. District courts deal with summary offenses like truancy and disorderly conduct. It will result in fines being doled out to people with no money to pay them, or community service that won't be enforced. It will be a giant waste of time and tax dollars.

Doing something to make the masses "feel" safer is not the answer. Bad kids won't fear the court any more than they fear the police, teachers, parents, or God.

Since some of the teenagers come in armed and dangerous, knives, etc. Unless each student goes through metal detectors and these items are removed. I would like to know if the police will be carrying a gun. To protect themselves? An unarmed policeman doesn't carry the weight of a regular police officer Remember FT. Hood was a gun free zone. And the local police needed to be called in to shoot the criminal.
