And a month ago Meijer denied they were interested in the site. It's less than four miles from the 28th & Kalamazoo store that the city of GR is being difficult in allowing replacement of.

Honestly hope Meijer goes ahead with this. It would revitalize Wyoming and also give GR a big black eye.

This is Old NEWS. Most people in Wyoming were aware of this several weeks ago, which is why Studio 28 closed in the 1st place. Another example of poor reporting by TV 8.

What a joke! A FOIA request to intercept information between 2 companies just so you can create a story. Maybe wood can FOIA Fred's phone calls so we know his opinion on this as well. Do wood reporters get trained in FOIA requests during their orientation when hired?

I agree...old news. When they first reported that Studio 28 was closing, someone on this forum even spilled the beans!

If News 8 listened to "news" from half of the brainless trolls on these forums, no one would know what to believe. Posting on this forum does not make a statement "fact", no matter how much you think you know. News 8 would be wise not to lean on these forums for news reporting...

Seems it was the neighbors at 28th and Kzoo site who de-railed the Meijer store there. Oh well; now they can drive the 4 miles down the road instead. I wonder what will replace the current store after they move to Studio 28's lot - maybe another Red Barn or check cashing pawn shop. That seems to be a popular area for those sorts of businesses lately. Perhaps the neighbors will like that better than all the potential noise they were complaining about from a new Meijer.

Maybe Meijers plans on keeping the Kzoo & 28th store open and then build this one as well. The Grandville Meijer and Wyoming Meijer on Clyde Park and 44th street are about 4 miles apart as well.

don't forget about the grandville and jenison meijer or the standale meijer. there are 4 miejers in very close in proximity so it wouldn't surprise me if the left the old meijers up to. At least we know meijers is doing good in this economy...

I think that is a great place for a Meijer. It will be great for Wyoming. It will shorten the drive to Grandville or 54th Street and will help with unemployment too.

That is great news. Meijer will be a nice addition in this area and will be great with new jobs creation too.

Meijer on 28th and K-zoo will be torn down. This Meijer is the most run down and unattractive Meijer in the state. If the back yard neighbors didn't have such a problem they wouldn't have to travel so far to get to the new Meijer that's coming to a theatre near you. Just when you think you're complaining does some good, it back fires on you.

If Meijer moves to the Studio 28 location does that mean the weekend flea market held in the parking lot there will move to the old Meijer location?
