He is a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, friend and he is dearly missed! He didnt deserve this, neither does his family...we love you bubba so so much you have no idea how much you are missed right now!!!!=(
so sorry for you. I don't know him or you but I pray for you and your family constantly. Don't pay attention to the meanness. Mean people are very unhappy. They are their own punishment. Prayers.

I watched Nick grow up and he is an acceptional young man. Nick is missing and finding him should be paramount in everyones minds, not repeating gossip or assuming things. Praying for Nick's family, friends, and everyone involved in the search should be the only thing this forum is used for. Please keep praying we need a miracle

some people watch to much TV! Why can't it just be a freak accident? They happen all the time. from what I've heard the river is up and very swift, how can anyone swim in this cold weather and cold water for long, and if he did take his boots or coat off its hard telling how far down the river they are. I don't know this young man or his family, but my heart goes out to them and everything they are going through. this has to be hard not knowing where he is.... sending prayers that God lead the searchers to where he is in Jesus name Amen!

I remember in high school going to that river, looking over and people warning me how dangerous it is. I feel such a loss for one of my friends. Please stop saying that someone pushed him. At most, they were drinking and someone pushed his shoulders as a joke and he lost his balance. I feel no foul play. It is just a sad story. My prayers for Tonya and the rest of his family.

If one of them pushed his shoulders "as a joke " as u say, sadly in turn it's their fault that he fell in & what has happened, happened. I hate it that it was his friends that were the ones w him & one of them is probably the one that may have been the one jokeing w him. At any rate, like it's already been said I just hope all envoled, his close buddy Matt, whoever else was there & the girls ppl say they had w them are all telling the whole story of what truly happend.

Praying for the Swink family. It's sad...there were at least 3 different versions of what happened less than 24 hours after the incident. That wasn't from topix...just from word of mouth. The different stories didn't show up here until later.

It's strange, tell 20 people exactly the same thing and you get 20 different versions of "the truth".

Just one question and it will prove if they were fishing or not. Not that that will prove much more, but for all the ones who are stuck on the fact if they were fishing or not.... This one question is all needs to be asked..... Was there any fishing equipment & bait there?? If not, then yes theres most definately lies being told, if so, then ok. Now you all know that some truth is being told.
So for the cops or first ones on the scene- was there fishing equipment and bait there?

There is an insurance from the federal government called the public safety officer benefit. But I think an autopsy is required to receive it. It is a several hundred thousand benefit and without the autopsy I don't beleive it can be received! It's a sad situation no matter how you look at it. Ya'll go easy cause there are still loved ones living.

I don't mean any disrespect, but I'm wondering if Nick was found yet? it seems that the news outlets that was reporting it in the beginning have moved on to other stories. again no disrespect, just want closure for his family and friends.
