I remember the day Walmart opened in Wynne. They hired all of Gibsons' workers. Do you remember Gibsons being in Wynne? It was where Dixie Furniture is. I was around 14 years old and thought Walmart was the neatest store I had ever seen. I can even remember what I was wearing my first shopping trip. haha

I remember the day the old Sonic opened where the fire station is. They served rootbeer with the cute little stir sticks. My boyfriend and I made a thousand trips around Sonic. It was the teenage loop. How funny!!!!!

Do you remember the old peach shed roller rink? It was near Sonic or Star Printing, somewhere in that vicinity. We had so much fun there.

I remember Jerry's Restaurant owned and operated by Mary and Jerry Wilkerson. They had one of the first buffets I had ever seen. It was in the Lower Deck building. They also owned a place for kids to hang out called The Q ball, not sure how it was spelled. I was about 7 or 8 when these were open in Wynne. They were such nice people. They had one son named Doug. I believe they are both deceased and Doug lives in Little Rock.

I remember the first night that Pizza Hut was opened. It is still in its original building. It was the teenage hangout through my high school years.

I remember several things. I remember Argo's Drug store, Sterlings, Burnette Drug Store, The Dime Store, Gardners Hardware store, Wynne Theater, Van Atkins, The Handy Dollar Store, Mitchell's Grocery, Maximart, White's Grocery Store, Hooper's Furniture, Teague's Jewelry Store, Brown's Shoe Store, Badours, The Men's Store, Colony Shop, The Deb Shop, Moore's Dollar Store, Graham's Hardware, Manning Drug Store, Drexler Candy Shop, Hammonds Service Station, and ............. Most of these businesses were downtown. Those were the good ole days. I wish we could return to the way it was. There were also eating places and another drug store, but I can't remember the names.

I remember passing by IGA and thinking wow what a small store and then got to the corner of union and falls and 1st nat'l was a huge wood frame just going up. We went through wynne and ended in cherry valley at my grandparents out on 42 in the middle of a farm and all I could think was, my God what have my parents done to me?? I was 10 moving here from california. Looking back I am so happy they made the move!!

Remember the beer joint across the street on the corner west of Kelly's and the store and trailer park on the corner west of the tire place? I remember going to an auction on Saturday nights with my family out front of the store. I think the Preston Caldwell family owned the store at one time.

I remember the Crazy Corner. It was a clothing store about in the same strip mall that Jenkins Photography is. They had crazy mirrors that made you look all different sizes and shapes. Montgomery Ward was also in that mall for a while.

i remember when KFC was in the Cherry Peppers building. And I remember when the farm fest was at Viaage Creek State park. It was so nice then because there was plenty of shade and room to park.

Cruising Falls Blvd. with friends, the "old" Sonic, hanging out at the Pizza Hut and Galaxy 7, the arcade...those were the days. Buying water guns at Ben Franklin dollar store downtown during farm fest and chasing friends all over, was the best of times. Oh, and the old movie theater downtown, with the 2 mean old ladies running it...probably weren't really mean, just all the kids made them that way! Walking home from high school and stopping at Carmen's grocery for a Hostess Cherry Fruit Pie...the little brick store that was by the Methodist Church and in earlier days, riding my bike to Durborow's little grocery store for candy.
