I took that route last week and saw this. The gravel around that field looked much better than the gravel on our county road! How does one get verification for this action?

Actually, I think the county judge can pretty much do what he wants when it falls under the heading of the county road department. Some people on my rural road had proof that Billy Lee was doing all kinds of work on people's driveways, farm roads and other things on private land and called up the state attorney generals office and found out that they are not limited to just county roads but can pretty much do work on any road they feel is of benefit to the county. They said the judge would have to really do something major in the way of misusing county road funds to have an actionable violation of law. Don't know if that helps but that's what we found out. Doesn't mean it isn't a sorry practice, just that you won't find anybody going to bat on an area where the judge has broad discretion as they put it.

So, the only way I can get a county road fixed is to hope and PRAY that the judge finds in his heart to address the need? I suppose that the nice road around this leveled field will be of a benefit to the county? Well, my family farms and I am sure they would like to have a nice raod around their field. I would think that the purchasing a new car every two years would help the county but my road is still a mess and my car is MUDDY!

You're preachin to the choir. It's not right but I just don't think you are going to have any luck trying to get the authorities to do anything about it. The only way I know to get justice is to vote. I hope somebody qualified will run against him in the next election. You would think the newspapers would be interested in things like this but they're interested in selling ads and thats it. Raise hell and let people know what's going on and maybe we'll get a new judge.

I hope there is a good candidate to run against him. I didn't think he would be the best county judge but I have been really disappointed in how bad a judge he's been. I've heard, from people whose comments I trust, that he has treated them rudely and talks to county employees like their dogs. That is not the way a good manager operates and putting gravel on private farm roads while so many county roads are in terrible shape is just wrong any way you slice it. Just another example of a person getting a little power and it going to their head.

If your expecting the Wynne Progress to report any stories your going to be waiting a long time. They have a monopoly on the newspaper biz and steady revenue and no interest in rocking any boats. Hell when a bank president gets caught with a hooker in a sting operation and makes every paper in the state but the one in his hometown that ought to tell you something. Caubble is going to keep his folks happy and just keep hoping he doesnt have to run against a decent candidate.
