Well gee, that was a given, that place has gone downhill in service since they put that resort and all those villas up. They basically ignore the campground and all their employees act like they're 12. It was just a matter of time...should have left it a nice family campground...greed...

Should have known something was up this year. No life guards in kiddie area, staff generally acting like they don't know what is going on. Not enough staff. Never thought this was what it was leading too. Greedy

I started going to Yogi in Warrens almost 20 years ago on accident. I thought I made reservations in Wis. Dells. I was a little upset when we got to the Dells and discovered we still had an hour and a half to drive yet. Oh well, we set off. It was the best! I loved the park and so did my kids. We made it a regular, going 3-4 times a year, if not more. We loved the park, the staff, the activities. It was fun going back year after year and seeing the same smiling faces! It felt like family after a while. I loved walking around the park on Sunday morning with the kids, we would carry a bag and pick up whatever litter we found. We kinda felt like it was "our" campground and we enjoyed doing whatever we could to keep it nice. We also made sure to pack rakes and things in the fall to help clean up leaves or whatever.
We stopped going for 4 years due to divorce. I was so excited when I finally got adjusted after the divorce and could afford to camp again. The kids were so excited, Yogi was our first planned trip. Upon arrival, we were shocked! What happened to our little park? We settled in and looked at the activity sheet with excitement! Kick ball game scheduled at 1! Yay! We got to the "activity" and no one showed up, not even a staff member. We went to the office and they seemed shocked someone actually showed up for an activity! No kick ball. Baseball game scheduled for 3. Nope. Not even a staff member...again. We went there for what they used to be. We were sadly disappointed. We haven't gone back nor would we. It's very sad, indeed. |

It is a shame that the owner was so greedy. I guess the end probably started when they got rid of the alcohol sales. I start camping at the park in 1983, so I witnessed the good and the bad. The bad would be what the new owners did to the park. The good would be the old owners that kept it nice and clean. They cleaned the bathrooms twice a day. A person could make a big list of mistakes that the new owner made, but hopefully the park will be bought by people like the old owners, people that made that park into a great success, and a place that you wanted to go back to year after year.

We are a group of 20 women who have been coming to Warrens Cranfest for 6 years. The last 2 years we have rented a villa at the Three Bears Lodge. We reserved and PAID for our villa a YEAR ago. We heard about the closing, but NOT from the lodge. Of course they are not answering phones and giving any information at all. We are simply out of luck not only with the money, but there is NO place to go. We are just one group of many, but at least we won't find out showing up to get the key to our villa like many others. Unfortunetly this will be a HUGE financial downfall to many people in the area because, our "little" group spend on the average of about 1,000 each at the festival and surrounding businesses every year, so that is 20,000 just in the one group that will not be spent, that's not including the 2100.00 on the villa it's self. I think we all deserved a little more respect and treatment then this!

The place was a dump. It would be better off as a parking lot.

Also, it was written that the campground would try and help out with any displaced reservations from the closing, but how can they do that if you can't get a hold of them? Can you believe these people had the NERVE to take a 300.00 payment just last week? All awhile assuring us that everything would proceed as normal.

So the hotel is closed? I have a campground resv for Cran Fest. Don't want to drive 1.5 hours if I can't even get in. |

Chances are that the people taking the reservations new as much about the closing as you did. As often happens in situations like this impending closings are kept secret (or as secret as possible) from employees. If you lost a monetary deposit contact the Better Business Bureau. |

We owned alot in there almost 4 years ago now and we bought when it was just a cpl villas and nice place to go an relax ona weekend. We sold 2 years ago now and boy I am glad we got out when we did, I feel for all these ppl that have no idea as to what they are goin to do. When we were there we meet some aswome ppl that was our only hard decision to make when we were thinking about selling. Like other ppl have said the staff was great there, then it got bigger and bigger was unsafe and you had worry about everything getting stolen. No one will be answering phone they were told to clock out yesterday and not come back!!!!!!!!!!

This is our yearly girls outing. We have been going for the past ten years. I hope we can find another place to stay. I'm sure the workers were not aware of the situation. I heard they will not even get paid for last weeks work.

Here is a number for anyone to call regarding Villa or Hotel reservations not being fulfilled. I got it from the Tomah Chamber of Commerce. Campsites are open and campground activities are going on till end of next weekend. 800-584-9429

That's a number I was trying to get to salvage our trip, but after 4 days a group of 20 of us gave up. Thanks for sharing the info though.
I also heard that all the golf carts were picked up yesterday from the park so anyone that was planning on using them, that to is gone. |

We were suppose to be there this weekend, arriving today. We got a phone call yesterday around 3 pm saying they were closed. NICE. Not only are we out the $400 we already paid for Yogi but we had to hurry to find a back up plan!
It is hard enough coming up with money for a mini-vaction in this economy but then to have it stolen from you sucks! |

We have a group that camps there every year and we are truly disappointed that it is closing. We had alot of fun and our kids just loved to go there. We can only hope that someone buys and re-opens it. What a waste if it just sits there empty. Hopefully someone with business sense will take it over and make it a nice to place to go again.

Being a resident of Warrens, I can say it was a huge shock to hear that the park was closing before cranfest, there are 5,000 people with out places to go for the weekend. Some of the area residents are renting out places to set up campers and tents and what not, but its best to contact the village itself. As for the workers, they were fired and not going to recieve any of the pay they are owed for 2 weeks. It is a huge mess for all, and it really was a sad day to hear the park had closed. Lets hope they get a new owner and get it back open for next year. It will still be a huge burden for the Village because it will have to be patrolled and plowed in the winter. 250 employees out of work just like that, wow.
