There should be no resources directly controlled by a member of the legislature. They get thier salary and that's it. Any expenses needed for keeping them informed, running their home district offices, or hiring assistants should come from thier own pockets, not the states coffers.

Any TEA Party legislators out there? I want you to step up and get a bill before the governor to slash administrative budget for house and senators.

Again, tea party fanatics reveal their lack of understanding of reality. Are you serious about expenses coming from their own pockets? Think before you speak Billy. They are conducting the peoples business, with the peoples money.
All I want are good ideas, I don't care where they come from. All the tea party has been are a bunch of whiners who pound their fists on the table like 10 year old kids. The clock is ticking on their fame.
Term limits would be a much more reasonable and REALISTIC thought for this discussion. Heck, discussion of having a constitutional convention is more realistic than thinking office overhead should come from their own pockets.
Just because you see a platform to spew stupidity, it doesn't mean anyone is buying it, other than a small group of miscreants. You are poisoning the democratic process, not to mention you own minds, by latching onto such emotional arguments.
State legislators have had a sufficient scare. The state legislative budget and finance office needs to be tasked with investigating the separation between elections and everything else.
