Wrightstown Boro hit with a recent crime wave and drug activity booming it only seems evident that things can only get worse for the struggling community of so few people. Trying to stay on the map and revitalize it's self with new development the Boro has had it's rise and fall over the years. Prostitution, drugs, murder, shootings a lot it's income is made from rooming homes and rentals.
Recently the state police have had to boost it's number of officers on duty to cover the possibility of violations occurring after one establishment's events let out dumping swarms of youths and young adults onto the small community at all hours of the night creating havoc for residents and local business owners who offer 24-7 convince stores.
Our tax dollars hard at work as the establishment makes the money the tax payers suffer.
Local 's claim transient migrant workers who have been observed drunken and disorderly walking the streets not only during the evening hours but during the day light hours wont be a problem they are only here for a short period of time. That still wont curb the violence and crime or drug activity in the small community when they leave.
It has been evident for a very long time that something more needs to be done to aid this struggling community.

Crime soars in the small boro of wrightstown as redevelopment plans loom for a starting date to bring wrightstown out of the 19th century and up to date with other small towns across NJ.
Police seem to have tied hands when it comes to enforcement of drug activity and prostitutes lurking the dark streets late at night looking for weary service men or the out of town patron of local bars who stay open until as late at 330-4 am due to the fact wrightstown boro has no police force of it's own and state police who are taxed with response time and reduced officers to cover a wide coverage area.
It's 1980 all over again in the small boro with crime and drugs escalating to all time highs will this small town survive and overcome the dark cloud that has hovered over it for so many years?
Or is it to go down in history as just another town you don't want to live in much less drive through.
Boro officials state they need more residents to attend the town meetings and voice what is going on but when the T 'S run things why would anyone come forward should people live in a community in fear of retaliation for coming forward? No people should not and officials should not look down on people who reside in the community home owner or renter they all have a voice and a vote.
Some residents feel a cap should be placed on the seats of mayor and council people sometimes forget who they are representing when they have been in office for many terms.
Some area residents are buying up property's in hopes of extremely high rental rates and mass rental needs that will make it unaffordable for riff raff to live in the boro when all the joint base use and redevelopment takes affect, a wolf in a lamb's clothing always has an inside eye on what is going on.
The MUA has raised water rates over recreant years and a rate increase might be possible again for area residents some people feel along with a local purpose tax of .83 cents per hundred of assessed value to take affect soon.
