Ahhh... this is an amazing article about an amazing person. Whoever wrote this article picked a FANTASTIC person to write it about. So i her that today it is Ms. Davide's birthday. How old is she 39, i think that they got it wrong in the article. By the way... Ms. Davide, you don't know who i am. I am like the dust blowing in the wind. I am a HUGE fan of your work and i have supported you ever since the start of your career. Also your daughter sounds to be quite the beautiful and smart person. You have it all, fame, a great family and me as your biggest fan!!!

I have seen a small sample of Mrs Davide's renditions of the p38 in combat. They are fabulous! In most ariel combat paintings, the aircraft look mechanized(as they are). But Mrs Davide's paintings render an additional dimension. There is an "other worldlyness" that gives the moment of action a sombre feeling.
Great Work!

It's inspiring and commendable to see an artist such as Andrea Davide, travel to the Philippines to capture a moment in time of our WW11 hero, Thomas McGuire. Through her talent of paintings and sculptures, we can now have a visual understanding of what may have occurred 63 years ago and give thanks to our American hero and now to this artist as well.

Found this a fascinating story. As someone who also loves the small details in history, I applaud Andrea Davide's extraordinary devotion to this episode in history and envy her moments of discovery. How wonderful to become a part of setting the record straight. I for one will seek out her artwork on McGuire.

To take off freely to another part of the world, to get one's hands dirty with the reality of history, not just to read of life but to breathe deep and live life, with an end result of creation.... we can all take a lesson from Ms Davide.

Fascinating article. An artist helps to clarify history. The world needs more people like her.

I read a story once a long time ago that Tom had righted his plane, dropped his belly tanks and started to pull out of his dive but ran out of space. Tom once wrote that the three things a pilot should not do is fly too low,too slow and too heavy. Thats what happened that day. Tom was trying to save a friend and broke all those rules.
