My comment would be how come any time a truck is involved it is automaticaly the trucks fault. Everyone knows the crossing lights at this crossing allways comes on late. Too late for a terrific guy who is just trying to make a living.
My heart felt sympathy goes out to the Wise family.

Unfortunately, The Engineer/operator of the train is an immediate family member of mine. He is in serious condition in the hospital with severe internal and head injuries from the logs of the logging truck. Authorities in the investigation notified immediate family that the significant other of the truck driver, who unfortunately died, notified authorities directly that she was on the phone with him at the time of the accident. Our condolences to his family.

A side note...my father was a truck driver for more than 30 years and I agree...they usually get a bad rap. My father was an outstanding driver wit an excellent safety record, but he too got a bad rap .....just for being a truck driver. Again, my sympathy and condolences go out to the family of Mr. Wise.

Just to set the record straight. I am his wife and I was not on the phone with him @ the time of the accident. Thank GOD. Please know we are praying for the train engineer.

to healthcare worker. this is a tragedy and please dont add to the grief of james's wife and children by stating supposed facts that you have no verification of. he was not on his cell phone with his wife, and when the investigation is finished, then will facts be known. until then, all is hearsay. the tragedy is, he was a wonderful husband and father, he loved his family and they will have to live without his love, security, and protection for the rest of their days. this is the tragedy. one young life gone and another life will never be the same. we will continue to pray for your family member that he may continue to heal and that God will continue to keep him in his care.

James Wise left behind a loving wife and three young boys. He was a good husband and father and he was working to provide a good life for them. The fact of this accident it that the lights belonging to the railroad company did not work that day. That was not the fault of James Wise. All of you that have falsely made allegations that yes are hurtful and could possibly be read by his children should apologize. The railroad company surely did recognize the mistake their equipment made on that terrible day. Why were the facts never posted here. The facts that left three boys to grow up without a father in their lives. How many precious moments were stolen from them and their mother?
