Fair, or not fair

A cow was hit on Hwy 3. The man who talked to the victim said he thought it was his son's cow. The man told the victim that he would "make this right". Now he avoiding phone calls from the insurance company, as is his son. Should his son be held accountable for damages to the vehicle, if it was his cow? The victim is not wanting a new vehicle, no labor bill, just a fair settlement on parts to fix the vehicle. Is this fair or not fair to the victim and/or the owner of the cow? What do you think should be done?

I believe the owner of the cow should be responsible for repairing the vehicle. I know a man that hit a hog several years ago, it caused major damages to this mans vehicle and the owner of the hog was not found liable for the damages in court. Hopefully, this situation won't have the same results. Good luck!

Who pays for the damage a deer or other wild animal causes to vehical? The insurance thats why we pay premiums. Its not the owner of the cows fault it was in the road. There are a number of reasons it could have gotten out. Ive had 2wrecks bc of deer but no one paid for them. Fair is fair!! I filed on insurance and premiums didnt go up
