The only people who know what is likely to happen are the H-D directors, officers and employees whose primary responsibility is to the shareholders who own the company, not the employees. Labor is a commodity which the company purchases in a modified "free" market where unions have priced their services far beyond their fair economic value.

The Harley plant could be used to build bombs again. Used to be AMF.

Well, I worked at AMF in the same union that's now at HD (IAM) and I ended up out the door when AMF shut down some production lines. The IAM didn't do me any favors, and couldn't have cared less.
The only things unions are good for, except feeding you the "UNION LINE", are collecting your dues to feed the "big wheels" at the top of the union, they could care less about the little worker at the bottom of the pile.

Ask any former UAW worker from a closed plant in the midwest, and they'll tell you the same thing.
In my birth city in the Midwest, both UAW (locals 662 and 663)closed shop and the halls are both up for sale. They don't have any workers in the town anymore; just retirees. In 1977, they had over 20,000 workers until the Big GM Strike that year.
If the Harley workers want to keep the plant here, they'll kick the Union out of the door and negotiate their own salaries and benefits; like the rest of us do.

Harley, go away! Don't come back! Tear down the plant, get rid of the strip malls and the housing developments and bring back the farms.

I hear that lots of places are hiring in Maryland and Mexico. Go south and keep going.

I welcome your thoughts lets be fair across the spectrum. Many poeple in Hanover do work that supports the business. I feel there is alot vested in this area with the making parts. We should look at many options and give our freinds a view of keeping our families empolyed.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Sagittarius

You're in a strange mood, Sagittarius. You're feeling impatient and cross, and nothing is quite right. No wonder, with Mercury and Mars retrograde, under a Full Moon lunar eclipse! But is it necessary to be quite so contrary, so determined to do the opposite of what's expected of you? Try to sort out the problem sooner rather than later, then do something energetic and therapeutic so you can burn off your nervous energy. Then you're all set for a great New Year's Eve!
