A good job? How about a complete waste of tax money?

Task Force agencies are just excuses for cops to grow out their hair and shave their mustaches. Enough already!

Is 4.5 oz of pot really justify the cost of a task force? Could we not find something better to do with public funding to hunt down pot smokers?

I am glad news agencies are featuring these stories. People can get an idea of just how ridiculously their tax dollars are being spent. We cannot afford this war any longer. It never worked, and it's only purpose now is destruction of human liberties and "job retention/creation" for ever more government bureaucracy. Support for this failed war just isn't there any more. This story is an example of just how ridiculous and misguided drug policies are in the U.S. After all is said and done, about $1,000 worth of pot could end up costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars between manpower executing this search, the court costs, and most of all, the incarceration costs.

To bad you don't know how task force works. They will use this guy to get to the dealer, then use the dealer to get to the supplier.

TOO bad we do. It's in direct contrast to the claims by the "drug czars" that this is not a war against the American people. Worse yet, the "little fish" get used to make large buys and often are put into scenarios that they never would have found themselves in previously. One such example is Rachel Hoffman from Florida. A small time college pot dealer who was killed when the DEA made her make a buy of guns and METH from violent criminals.

I suspect that support of the drug war would plummet even more if people knew the extent of which the "little fish" are used under current practices. Having jurisdiction over one's own body should never result in being coerced into putting one in harm's way and in danger of physical, criminal harm.
