Why oh why are my tax dollers going to a place that has a dope sitting at the front desk on his cel phone all day (it is probably my tax dollars paying for his bill!)Be smart. while I sit and wait for my kid at gymnastics at least don't bash your own staff. many of which ar my friends.

I have been in this town 40+. I knew christanson and he was one to throw racist comments. i was surprised when then name a park district building after him. Actually shocked. It's a who- knows- who when it comes to employment. They are not worried about loosing their jobs because they are rude. They are Dry and have no manners. They act like you are bothering them when you come in. I figure they are paid to do nothing but talk on their cell phones and act like they are doing something. I know exactly what you are talking about. They don't care. They will still keep their job. They don't have to be friendly in our ' Friendly Village. They still get a pay check. I agree 100%.

I used to live in Worth and nothing has changed at that place. I met the new director who is Carlos at an event by accident. He was rude. Almost ran me over in the hall of the touch a truck when I was taking my child in to use the bathroom. This guy must not have kids.
I prefer putting my money into palos hills. At least the classes don't get cancelled. Wake up...this is why people don't want to come. It is you.

for years this park has had problems. The only difference is that now we pay more for people to come in and shun those that want to be a part of the parks. A lot more. The board is just as bad. You have a board member that does not pay taxes. Tell me how do you represent me?

How many of the employees have to leave there before the board wakes up to see that it is a toxic environment? Most of the employees are Worth residents that care about our community and the Director and his so-called Managers (his friends) aren't even from Worth & could care less about our nice community! It all comes down to how much money they can make off of us! I really wish at the next election some people with board experience run agains the current board because we are all tired of this current administration running our Park District into the ground! Community members won't go to the current board to complain because they feel intimidated by the current board president.

[Girl Scout Volunteer]

I have been a Girl Scout volunteer/leader for many years and a worth resident for 37 years. As a tax payer and resident I'm very upset that our girl scouts and boy scouts of the community are charged a fee to use the park district facility for their meetings.. We have never been charged any fees in the past and now we are being charged $5.00 a meeting to use the facility. I guess we need to sell allot of cookies just to pay the park, shame on the park for charging a non for profit! I guess we need to help pay the directors salary!!!!!

I heard the same thing from another leader, It's a shame. I know everyone is having issues making ends meet, but I would think that the board would be bright enough to see that the Director is leading the board remember as elected offcials the board is HIS boss. This is the wrong time to stick it to us... we should be pulling together to help eachother!$6.00 for a Haunted House? Did you know a board member has a halloween store? Wonder how much tax money is being spent there?

If anybody knew the truth you would be amazed.
this board is doing more to fix twenty years of neglect than any board before them.all the commissioners are open to speak to the public anytime but rarely does anybody call.there are two public comment times at every meeting go there and speak up

I think the problem is with the new staff that came in. The seniors, who have given so much, are now being charged. What a shame! Where is the respect?

There is a nice haunted house at the center. At least I know wher the money is going to go and the environment isn't toxic.

I will never step in there again.

I agree with the leadership in the Park District not being friendly, but not all departments share the same leadership style. The Tot Lot program has been run by the same women for years and they do a great job! Don't group all employees into one category. The Tot Lot Staff work very hard to give a good foundation to all of the students who attend.

The park district does have issues, but just because one board member does not pay taxes does not mean that he does not care about the community. If you take a closer look, he is usually the one who is volunteering at most of the events. Don't forget, the board positions are unpaid positions and we do vote to have them elected.

devoted you mus be a board member. tooting your own horn. so blind you can not see that you are part of the problem. I don't go to your functions anymore so I can't toot horns. I had a child go through the tot programs and it was nice and affordable. That was years ago. The board wasnt great back then either. Things were great until the new attitude came in.$$
I am well aware that there is an election to determine who gets in. the choices in the last one must have been slim to none, or positions were changed and you misled the voters. a little education goes a long way, instead of arguing with people that loved that place you shoudl listen. this is why people don't go to board meetings.

I came back to this thread to see if there would be any good responses to this. It is obvious that there is a problem here and peopel keep sticking up for the place.
