most people that are fleeing here think their last state was the best as well as sharing how awesome they are to grace the nw with their presence?.. its surreal and none have any idea why theyre here in the first place because the people here spent years to make something worth living in while they never bothered nor cared but somehow manage to convince themselves they had anything to do with what they "found" and pat themselves on the back for scoring such an awesome find?... just happy to they don't have to actually live in their own mess but don't mind taking a smug dump on others? including screwing up their own wet dream? hopefully we'll have a record suicide season this year..and thanks for showing us what stupid animals "humans" can really be after years of evoloution!

I've lived here for a year now, and I'm not impressed. I grew up in the Midwest and moved around to various states over the past 15 years, and I've never hated a state more than I do this one! Yes the weather is rainy and cool, but you would think the state would protect their citizens and have an emergency plan in place when it snows. They don't have one in place. I've heard all the excuses including we only get snow storms like the one we had in February every five years, as well as the state does now use salt on roads because of the environmental impact on wildlife.

So why am I so pissed over this? Because I damn near lost my life on I-5 on February 6. I spent a week in the hospital. My right leg was fractured in two places, my left pelvis was broken in two places, my tailbone was fractured, my nose was broken and severely lacerated, I had a severe laceration next to my right eye and possible fractured skull. I'm still not walking yet, although I am recovering.

Another issue I have about the state during this accident is they had no plan in place to properly take care of pileups. There was no one to investigate my accident; it was basically left on the driver to file a report online and contact the insurance company. I have no idea who hit me, and I'll probably never find out.

I wish I never would have bought a home and moved here.

The weather. Hands-down the absolutely worst thing about Seattle. The shit season starts sometime around mid-September and ends sometime in the beginning of July. During this time you can pretty much expect high temps in the low 50's and low temps in the upper 30's, with constant overcast. The locals often point out that Seattle gets less rainfall (in inches) than most other American cities. But what they don't tell you is that it rains just about all the time! It's this annoying drizzle that sticks around for days on end. And you can't really do anything outdoors because it's just so shitty out there. In the wintertime, you can expect darkness to fall sometime around 4pm. Seeing the sun during wintertime is like finding a needle in a haystack. It's very depressing and I can pretty much guarantee you that you'll feel like a slug during winter.
Anyways, sometime during the first week of July (yes July), the weather will clear up and it will start getting into the low 70's. The locals always brag about how this is the best summer weather in the country. It's not. You still need pants and a warm jacket after sundown. Ironically, this is also the time that the locals start complaining about how hot it is. 75 degrees is too hot for them. The nice weather only sticks around until the beginning of September and then rapidly gives way to another 9-10 months of soul-crushing depressing overcast.
Count how many Zionists you have in your government. That might be another reason why.

Every Place Has Its Challenges..

I moved here in April of 2010 & I had the best of intentions about being a good citizen & fitting in.

I'll make it short.......Pluses & Minuses..(PLUS Then Minus)

Great topography if you are a cyclist & like hills.

Horrible if you like a good social cycling scene, especially in Snohomish County.

Great Restaurants & Pubs......The Food....AMAZING

It's hard to talk to anybody here if you are from out of state the indigenous recognize you immediately & will "snub" you..

Easy to fit in once you realize the social ineptitude of local folks & what they are comfortable with..... "Be Slow".. That is key!

Bummer! When you go home people will say you have changed, albeit you seem relaxed....

Wonderful terrain to AT Ski in...

Hard to find a group to AT ski with....No Wonder these cheesedoodles die by handfuls in seasonal avalanches....

Like any place once you find friends cherish them!.. The one's you get out here will last...

It's especially hard to find real friends here, ya know the kind you would introduce to your parents.(I only have 3 REAL friends out here gulp).

The Puget Sound Is Flipping BEAUTIFUL.....I live right on the coast & see Whidbey Island & Hat island daily...Better Than Anything I Grew Up With..

You'll still miss home if you are one of the imported talent like myself to replace the local folks who "always" fail to perform....They don't like change & will make you pay dearly if you introduce it...Fair Warning Very Unionized....

Very rewarding to be recognized by leadership as an effective changer of culture & meeting organizational goals....(you'll excel here if you were brought up in the Midwest)....

Everybody just get along........ I love this place & hate it all in the same day....:)

When I lived in WA I f*cking loved it, the people were nice, the weather was great (I love it when it rains) there was actually a job market available that doesn't consist of over work under paid labor, which was good in my book. There was alot of asian girls, and when i did stupid shit, no one got their panties in a twist. Plus, I could smoke weed legally without some asshole preaching to me. I'm sure many of you will disagree with, and that is fine.

I love WA because there is so much to do, you can decide to go to the snow or beach, places to hike and lots of activities, yes it does rain a lot, but I rather deal with rain the 20 below zero, wind and snow! I moved to ND and I do miss home (WA).

If Washington is so racially accepting then why do they have one of the most disproportionate incarceration rates in the country. Roughly 3.6% of the total population is African American, yet roughly 27% of prisoners in Washington State are African American men. Least racist my ass.

I am so sick of these crotchety ass uptight people here! Washingtonians are just like thier lame ass northern counterpart (Canada) that it's difficult to distinguish between the two. I am from southern California and those of you talking trash about it, FUCK YOU! We have the highest standard of living! Southern California has nice homes, nice weather, nice people and lots of activies. That's why most of the rich and famous live in Southern California. Also, when have you ever heard a song composed about Washington? I hear countless songs produced about california. Sounds like sour grapes like those you use in your cheap Washington wine.
We're like Canadians? Really?
I have been living in Washington my entire life and I am rather proud to have been born here. Yeah, it rains a lot and, in the part of Washington I live in, it doesn't get to warm; but the people aren't that bad. I mean, every place has rude and inconsiderate people, though I would have to disagree over the fact that everyone here is uptight. Perhaps there are many people like that where you have been, but that is just a small part if an entire state. Like like saying all Americans are dumbfucks who gorge themselves with hamburgers all day long. It, honestly, doesn't my kind very believable.

Well. The most likely cause is because they actually committed the crimes they were sentenced for. Just because 27% of prisoners are African American men doesn't mean that all of their prosecutors were racist and only sought to get them in jail because of their race. Those who live in Washington, or in the areas in which I have been, are actually rather sensitive towards racism. It isn't something taken lightly here; as we do not discriminate all because of heritage or skin color.

Anyone who says that washington or seattle isn't racist is either white, cause they don't understand racism and don't have to experience it,and discrimination. If they are black and say it's not racist here, they are house negroes that is in denial and don't what to admit it and look over it.
