It's too bad that Americans don't ask themselves why this soldier was in Afghanistan, who ordered him there and why, and why the people of Afghanistan are the victims of American aggression.

Our leaders have a lot of blood on their hands, and the American people share some of that responsibility for being ignorant of and tolerating their leaders' crimes.

It's too bad your such a jack hole that you feel the need to spew your myopic views.
You stand there with your holier than thou attitude and besmirch the very person you profess to be arguing for.

Your a tool, a vile and worthless person and I hope you burn in whatever hell you believe in. And if you dont believe in one, I hope you burn in mine.

Puke!

So why was this boy in Afghanistan? What did the people of Afghanistan do to deserve a bombing campaign, invasion, and occupation by the world's most advanced military?

Well, so much for FREE SPEECH. That was mild compared to the Vietnam protest. Maybe if we bothered to question those who want endless unwinable wars, these boys could come home alive. It's time to end this shit and worry about our own country we are not the world police.

<quoted text>
Asking why this soldier died isn't pissing on him. Quite the opposite. If enough people were to ask this question of their alleged "representatives" in Washington, we might avoid future Afghan and American (and Iraqi and Pakistani and Libyan and Yemeni, etc.) deaths. If we had asked this question of our leaders years ago, this boy might still be alive.

Crying over a dead soldier while ignoring the exploited living ones who serve criminals could arguably be interpreted as pissing on the troops when it mattered most.

Bla bla bla.
There are a zillion threads where you can spew your vile.
Again I ask. WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO POLITICIZE THIS SOLDIERS DEATH?

Why must a grieving family read your rants against the govt?

Do you know why those bikers act an an honor gaurd? It's to keep nut jobs like yourself and that crazy preacher from tormenting the family.

Your a sick POS to come here and rant.

Like I said you can have your views, but this is not the place to showcase them. By doing so you are defiling the memory of someones son, brother, or dad.

Your arrogance is disgusting! And your failure to realize this shows just how terribly small your mind is.

No body wants to trivialize a soldier's death. The asshole turds that sent him there should be tried as criminals so that no more of them die there. TEN YEARS IN THAT SHIT HOLE is deplorable and what he we accomplished? Now we are negotiating with the TALIBAN. There are huge Lithium Deposits in Afghanistan. Now you know why we are there.

The soldier's death is trivialized by mindless rituals. I'm simply asking why this boy was in Afghanistan and who sent him there. Apparently, you cannot answer that questions.

More mangled bodies will return from Afghanistan because more people don't have the courage to ask why things have to be this way.

Then jeff...
Go and tell your congressman, your senators and the president. Your whining in the wrong place and do you know why??
Because you dont have the guts to stand up to your convictions. You sit there and type all your bravado and rile about the injustice of it all, and then monday morning you go back to your job, keep your mouth shut and collect your pay. Never once will you challenge the powers, never once will you publicly decry this soldiers death. Instead you sit and type here, where Richies family can see.

Go send a God dammed letter to Obamma if you feel so strongly about it. Chain yourself to the gates of the whitehouse...

But you wont because your weak. And your an asshole.

This is a public forum. Obviously, if you were the only reader, I'd be wasting my time. But there are people out there who may give a damn about this country and have the courage to ask questions and challenge the status quo. Ignite the pilot light of consciousness in enough of these people and the criminals at the top will realize that there are limits to what they can get away with.

Apologies for disturbing your sleep.

Oh, yeah, your a real John Henry you are.

Where your petition? I'll sign it.
When are you planning a protest march? A sit in? Hunger strike?

You talk about others having courage, and that is the one quality you lack! Your spineless. Your a weasel, just trying to stir up trouble. You are no leader, nor even the voice of logic. Your just a turd trying to sit on some soldiers coffin.

You seem to be hung up on mindless rituals. How about showing some vital signs and answering the questions? What was Richie doing in Afghanistan that got him killed, and who sent him there?

No, you seem intent upon deflection and trying to engage me in mindless debate that will accomplish nothing.

Why dont you post your questions to your representatives? Coward.

I talked my nieces and nephews out of joining. They in turn have talked others out of joining. Imagine if they gave a war and no one showed up? If there were jobs for these kids, they wouldn't be foced into it.

You are so wrong. There will always be people willing to guard our country and ideals.
Had you taken the time to read the article, you would know that Richie was also persuaded by his mother to not enlist and instead go to college. But after 2yrs, the need to serve was too great and he Joined up.
Dont try to parlay your own cowardliness into something noble. It is what it is... Jeffy is a girl.

What have we gained as a country by being involved in these wars? I suppose you thought Vietnam was justified too? Blindly following whatever your govt. tells you to do is just plain stupid. During the 60's there was a great bumber sticker that said "question Authority" We did and eventually got them to end the draft which was nothing more than indentured servitude and got us out of Vietnam. Many moved to Canada rather than fight a useless war. We need to have an economy based on something other than endless wars.
