Woman Dead, 4 Hurt In Kane County Crash

An 88-year-old Woodstock woman was killed and four other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday in an unincorporated area in western Lily Lake in Kane County.

i heard the call come out thru my police scaner about the wreck i heard the fire dept in route talking to the police about the wreck ,i heard the fire man say there is one person ejected and lying on rt 64 ,then i heard a fireman asking for request help for a female in the back of the ford saying she is badly hurt and he needs help ,i heard the med a vac helacopter pilot talking to the fireman , then i heard the pilot talk to delanor hospital saying there inroute with a crash victum and be at there location in 5 minutes ,i prey that the lady did not suffer she is in gods hands now at peace,i wish well for the other passangers and driver of the other car and prey to god that there was no alachol or drugs were involved in this crash ,and if so i hope to god that the driver gets many years behind bars and big fines but you can,t bring back a mom,grandmother,which that poor lady could have been all i can say is that i will keep the family in my preyers

We were following the SUV northbound on RT. 47 through lily lake when a car traveling southbound on Rt.47at a very high rate of speed crossed over and hit the SUV almost head on. We were driving a truck with a large trailer and had to swerve to miss as the southbound car continued to slide down the highway.
We pulled past the wreckage of the accident and stopped to see if everyone was OK. Ihad my son call 911 right away. You would not believe the utter destruction we saw.
I do not want to get graphic because of the family of the people in the SUV but it was a very sad scene. I held anitas hand while we waited for the fire department to arrive. You could tell she wanted to live just by the way she grabbed my hand.
I cannot tell you how saddened I feel for Anitas family but I do want them to know that my son who is just starting to drive has a new found understanding of the consequences of improper vehicle usage and the feeling of emptiness you feel when theres not much you can do to make things better after something like this.
