Why?? She didn't do it on purpose.
Do you expect her to accept that she did it on purpose. I have read stories of several of them opposing exonerations and pardons of the people the false accused/identified of raping them even after DNA conclusively proves the guys are innocent. I have very little sympathy for false witnesses

I don't think it had as much to do with the all white jury as it did that she couldn't look beyond his color..not too make a joke, but that was, to her, the most distinguished factor.
But that is not the case with people who are famous like OJ..we recognize his celebrity along with treachery.
If you were ever shocked and overcome as this woman was in a rape, you'd understand. It does not mean it was intentional. What it does mean is that she was trying to get the man off the street so he didn't do it to another. Rape after effects are terrible...too.
This think has happened to a few white guys but also to a disproportionate number of blacks. White juries just do not give a damn whether the black guy they are convicting is innocent or not provided the white woman says it is him even when there inconsistances in her description of the rapist. Just as an example look up what happen to Julius Earl Ruffin in Virginia. Two mixed juries could not convict him because the blacks on those juries could see through the mismatch in the rape victims original
description and the appearance of Mr. Ruffin. He also had a solid alibi. So the racist prosecutor eliminated all the black jurors. The all white jury took just seven minutes. He was in prison for 21 years before DNA conclusively cleared. After that, the foreman of that prejudiced jury claimed that there was "overwhelming" evidence against Mr. Ruffin. One other juror anonymously stated they convicted based on the rape victims insistence that Mr. Ruffin was the rapist. Mr. Marvin Lamont Anderson's case is just as absurd as are countless other.

The so-called "victim" should be sued because how could she say that this slim man was the fat man that raped her? They convicted him on just this woman's word, no evidence? So he had the same color pants as the rapist? Wow, call Perry Mason.
Thanks God there is DNA now. In the past all it took was the woman to claim that the defendant did it. It did not matter whether he had an alibi or any other exculpatory evidence. They would convict. It did not even matter whether the woman gave conflicting descriptions of her her attacker. All she had to was to insist. Thankfully science has caught up with some of them.

Has the newspaper contacted the woman who accused him of rape? Is she still standing by her story?
So many of them continue to stand by their stories after ruining guys's lives. There are very lucky that in many of such cases, the guys come out prison when they have mellowed somewhat and usually the state compensates the wrongfully convicted. Otherwise, there would be {justifiable} revenge actions.
