Instead of buying pipe, buy a better water softener! Tired of all the hard water.

Please do not believe everything the papers print.

Romeoville did not buy into a pipeline, they simply agreed to be a partner in an agency for those communities who wish to bring Lake Michigan water to THIER communities. Romeoville does NOT need nor WANT Lake Michigan water but in order for the agency to form all communities that have potential customers had to agree 100% to this agency. Romeoville has about 10 properties involved. Their action as I understood it from the meeting simply gives them a vote in whatever happens. The communities wanting the water will be paying the price for it.

Since Plainfield gets its water through these towns and Plainfield is not party to the group can these other communities charge Plainfield? It seems their pipes (if no longer AW pipes)carry Plainfield's water and there is no agreement so they can charge Plainfield what they want.

someone has to be taking a kick back for this.. why would they want to raise rates.. hmmm Ole Lamb is doin good in this weak economy.. Have you notice that him and his friends at the village hall, are doing quite well, and oppose any relief for the residents.. just for the developers who get some refunds.

We are getting so screwed by the IAW with this 26 percent increase in our water bills. This should be illegal, we need to fight on against this outrageousness. This was suppose to be a bonus to our community the lake water, the outrageously priced Lake Water......if you couldn't sell your home before, good luck now......caught between a rock and a hard place

Between the water bill the 8% sales tax thanks to home rule ( come on census they don't need home rule to run the village ) and paying $ 20,000 a month for the village hall. What was wrong with old place ? Why buy your house ? Oh yeah and overcrowded schools. I got an idea to save money on rent move into a mobile home , raise the sales tax , refain from trying to spend 7 mil on a park and just buy the pipe line like should have happened 15 years ago .

Time for someone in the media to do a little background on these private water companies in Illinois. I bet you can trace all the money going to three or four politicians that changed IEPA standards and then paved the way for American Water. One US Senator and three state pols. All in the name of clean water so no one challenges the validity. USA today ran a story on Pekin,IL being taken in the last decade. This is conspiracy and a real attack on the citizens of Illinois. Let us investigate and get a rope out.
