A little history of Labor Day.....The observance of Labor Day, the first Monday in September, began over 100 years ago. It was conceived by America's labor unions as a testament to their cause, the legislation signed by President Grover Cleveland as a reluctant election year compromise.
It is a dedication to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well being of our Country.
Today, Labor Day has evolved into a celebration as the last big fling of summer, rather than a tribute to the work we do when we are not on vacation.
So fire up the grill, go out and get a great bargain at the Labor Day sales, and maybe take one last dip in the pool on Monday. But remember who it was that made this summer ending holiday possible.

Very nice post Tree Hugger and while you're at it share a friendly smile with those who might just be working that day so others can shop those sales,or provide any number or services we all expect to be available to us on our holidays.

Daily Horoscope for February 5

Scorpio

Your emotional and domestic life may pull against your work or responsibilities, pushing you to a point of decision. It may be time to set something aside as you put energies elsewhere. Only you can decide where the priority lies. For some, there could be an end or change with a current association. Others may find there is a loss in regard to private life. Either way, there may be no other choice.
