Like the family of Czar Nicholas II, the Gosselin clan of TLC's Jon and Kate Plus 8 are going down.

At some point I quit watching the show, but now when I go to the grocery store, they are all over the tabloids. I don't buy the rag mags, but then there is Kate on Rachael Ray and Rachael pops up the magazine and wants her to discuss the marital issues. Kate would rather make ice cream in ice, rock salt and cream, sugar, and vanilla in a baggie or make boats out of lean cuisine trays with glue sticks by adding a post and a sail. These are apparently the craft tricks that may be in her cookbook/how to raise kids on a budget book.
Remember, her kids get vacations in Utah, Hawaii, and wherever else they want, not dumb toys made out of the recycling stuff. I remember her girls got American Girls dolls and all the trimmings. That's fine, but don't pretend you're ghetto when you're not. The money and freebies have gone to their head. It appears that now Kate has gotten the house and land she thinks she and the kids deserve, she's okay with Jon doing what he wants.

The person I have mentioned with multiples went from a 3 bedroom 2 bath house to a 5 bedroom 3.5 bath house with pool but still wasn't happy. They told me how they were going to sell their house for a half mil, buy land and build a custom home. They took equity out of their house to buy "toys" and now are underwater on their house and stuck.

The nannies got tired of being treated like slave labor and quit. They go to school this year (hopefully). It was obvious the nannies parked them in front of the tv while they cleaned, cooked, did laundry and her other Kate-like tasks. Her living room showed no signs of kids living there. Her response: I pay good money for my house to look that way. In the meantime, the kids lagged behind developmentally and she said that was okay because at least she didn't have to chase them.

Her husband has not left her as far as I know, but they do their own thing apart from each other. I wouldn't be surprised to see them split after the kids get in school. Both work full-time to afford their lifestyle. She never wanted the kids, so she wasn't going to stay home with them. Her mother flies out every holiday, every long weekend and in the summer, birthday parties and works like slave labor also to do renovation projects on their house, go to the grocery store, cook and anything else her daughter wants. If you don't, you are cut off. Here's to being cut off! Enough is enough.

The person above plus some of my in-laws have Kate's attitude. They don't live too far apart. Is that just part of the Northern attitude? I ask because when I told my spouse about Kate's boring SOUP DAY, he told me the women "up there" do that sort of thing. I've never understood cooking food and freezing it. It never tastes as good as cooking it fresh.

I'm surprised no one here has a Kate-like person as an in-law, neighbor or co-worker. I'm looking for answers for how to deal with people like that.

I'll give this one last try. There seem to be so many authorities on here with opinions and advice. This person is like Kate. They want cash or gift cards for the kids and themselves. If you won't do that, then she is done.
She had to have everything brand new and multiples of everything such that she needed a bigger house. She is dealing with the fact that her kids are damaged. One child was not crawling at a year. One was pulling themselves with their arms only at a year. She didn't want to contemplate that the kids might have cerebral palsy or other developmental issues. These in-vitro/fertility doctors should have more guidelines and should educate patients more about the risks of multiples in pregnancy.

Kate is very lucky to have 8 healthy children. Most people with multiples will have some kind of challenges whether it be large or small. The only thing I ever saw them address was that Aaden had to get glasses. They never brought out that two of the sextuplets had physical therapy through Easter Seals. Then their show just turned into drama, drama, drama when neither of them wanted to be by the other one on the interview couch. There's all this wagging of tongues because Jon has been more absent during filming. When they first started, wasn't he working 14 hour days and only minimally available? Wasn't it mostly Kate Plus 8? Why is it such a big deal now?

I don't remember who it was, but I think 3 of the Gosselin kids have to have breathing treatments....I think a birth defect from being preemie?

The ones I saw taking the breathing treatments were the girls -- Alexis, Hannah, and Leah.

they do not have a birth defect. preemies are more prone to respitory infections. so when they get a could, it settles in their rhonchi and they need breathing treatments to either reduce the swelling of the airway or dilate their bronchials. so it is not a defect so much as they are more prone to infection. hope that helps

I have watched it from the beginning and it wasn't to bad, but the longer it went on the more disgusting she got. The kids are the ones who will suffer. The media needs to mind their busines but when your on tv, this is what happens.

It's the land cruiser's fault. She's too sexy for her car, too sexy for her car which will be sung to the tune of I'm Too Sexy (for my shirt)

Well with Hef in the pic, she may think shes to sexy for her clothes. At least Margene sold her car for money she needed, and without Bill's Approval at that.

Kate does her dance on the driveway instead of the cat walk.

Did Margene sell her used car to Josh? Hahaha. Just kidding.

The ratings must have tanked. Nobody is crowing about the recap show this past Monday.

Or, the camera will pan to a close-up of her "hamhocks" hanging out of that blue bikini ...

Who let the dogs out? woof, woof, woof-woof
