You can't accidentally discharge a .45 while cleaning it. The first step in any cleaning is to pull back the slide which will kick out anything in the chamber. This guy just shot himself in the belly either on purpose or as a result of having parents who were too closely related.

Uh.....Colt makes a .45 revolver....

Still, it takes a real goof to pop yourself in the gut.

The term handgun doesn't really say whether it was a a pistol or a revolver. I just assumed pistol because most Colt 45's are autos. Of course it's probably even more difficult to shoot yourself with a revolver while "cleaning" it because to get anything down the bore the cylinder must be removed or emptied out. This guy just plain shot himself.

there are no firearm accidents only carelessness, he apperently did not respect the weapon. i bet he will from now on, if he is ment to survive in this life he had better learn to not clean a loaded gun.

Amen. Cleaning a handgun is not a complicated process, pistol or revolver. Step one...TAKE OUT THE DAMN BULLETS. This shouldn't be an issue as Rule #1 of handling any firearm is NEVER POINT IT AT YOURSELF OR ANYONE ELSE!

Daily Horoscope for December 2

Capricorn

The Gemini Full Moon brings situations at work to a head; there may be a sudden event that shakes up the office, but you should be free and clear of any real trouble. The real issue is the one you have most likely been avoiding: what sort of state is your health in? Have you been buying larger pants each year for the past three or four years in a row? Is your idea of strenuous exercise scooping hard ice cream out of the carton? If so, it's time for some changes.
