Looks like the DA must be up for re-election in good old woodpile. I can't think of a case that screams heat of the moment more than this one. Mel, I still love you man. Keith rest in peace brother.
Heat of the moment? Gee let me hide behind something and jump out and stab a guy 100 times. That is heat of the moment? You are a dumb person. |
Dear dumb people:
When you saw Mel hiding behind "something" why did you not warn Keith before he was "stabbed 100 times"? I am assuming you must have been there because I haven't heard anything about this in the reports. I can only go off of what I have read and what I know of the people involved since I don't live there anymore. I realise that having an open mind is foreign to you but please try to forgive my ignorance. NO DEATH PENALTY EVER, FOR ANYONE. |
Yeah I guess the only death penalty is the guy that got stabbed 100 times. |
This is just another political play by DA Reisig to get some tough on crime press. For those who don't know, THE DA is only one that decides to go for death. Since he was already accused of lying and hiding evidence (by two of his own cops) on a previous death case, how can anyone every want this guy in charge of any crime. Wake up Yolo, our DA is dirty and untrustworthy and that means the system is broke. |

Good I hope has a painful death! California should really consider reinstating the electric chair.
show me one person who has been exicuted and i will show you a person that wont' commit another crime.
Show me one innocent person who was executed and i will show you a system that is flawed.
Innocence project: 245 people exonerated. People wrongly executed:? No one knows... Not your problem...yet. |
| ||||
How about the guys that are on death row admitted to killing innocent people and want to die by lethal injection. I guess they are exonerated also. Remember there are hundreds on death row that admit to everything they did. You act like every single one is innocent. Dumb |
Dear Dumb:
Does the "justice" of sending 1000 guilty people to death make up for the injustice of sending 1 innocent person? Justice may be blind but that doesn't mean we should blindly follow. Regards, Sick |
Read what I said sickofthelaw. There are many guilty convicts on death row that have admitted their guilt and want to die for what they did. Those individuals should be put to death right away. |
I read what you said and personally I agree that some people deserve and even want to be put to death. I am not willing, however, to trust the system to get everything right. If we want to make sure that no innocent person ever is put to death there is only one way, abolish the death penalty.
I realise that there are times when guilt is not in question. Let them rot in jail and save the money spent on appeals. I still believe that the DA is adding the special circumstances charge for political reasons. I respect that we have different opinions on this but you have to admit that the death penalty in California is a sham anyway. What is the average anyway? 30 years on death row? So why ask for it in this case? Must be politics. |
Your initials wouldnt be CR would it???? Just asking.. |
You ask for it because we still have laws. It is not this DA's fault or any DA in California that it takes an average of 17 years to execute someone. There are nearly 800 people on death row. They were put there by a jury. Again some of these individual want to die because they know what they did was horribly atrocious. You say just rot in hell I say execute them and save the people of California a large amount of money. PS you need to remember that out of that 800 there are thousands of families of the victims that want justice. This isn't about you sickofthelaw. |
Chance:
I don't understand the CR reference sorry, out of circulation I guess, but no they aren't. Dumb People: I don't expect to change your mind, although I hope someday we can change the law. Every thing I have read about the death penalty process there in California tells me that the cost of putting someone to death is more expensive than letting them sit in prison. That may be right, or it may be wrong, I just say that it is beside the point. If you just look at it from the standpoint of overturned convictions it is obvious that the system is not perfect. If we can't be perfect then we have no business taking lives. I know there are people who admit it and people who feel so bad about it that they would rather die than live with the guilt, but lets face it those are not the only people that we send to death row. I'm sorry but that tears it for me. I am strictly opposed to capital punishment for anyone. |
